Little Grey Cat Records was created in October of 2007 by Christopher M. Skebo for the distribution of creative music. It’s mission is to bring music that has been overlooked by the mainstream to the masses. LGCR is known for it’s “Spontaneous Music Series” which pairs a different group of musicians together each month and releases the results as a free download album on it’s website. Though LGCR has released some albums by pop/rock acts, it is seen mainly as a creative music label.

Little Grey Cat Records has four series which can be identified by the serial number on the spine of the album (i.e. LGCRXXXX)

The 1000 Series - is devoted to non-compositional music (pop/rock). The most popular release in this series has been “Everything is Going to Be Alright” by Deaf Children Playing.

The 2000 Series - is devoted to creative composition. Each release in this series is devoted to the work of one composer or group. This series is to give composers with “non-mainstream” appeal a chance to have their work heard.

The 3000 Series - is known as the “Spontaneous Music Series.” Each month a different group of musicians is brought into a studio session and the end results are released as a free download album on the LGCR website. At the end of the year, one track is selected from each of the sessions to be included on a compilation of the sessions with added video content from the sessions.

The 4000 Series - is dedicated to split and sampler releases.
