Today The LAW is better known to most as Roy Williams, father to PEPPER drummer Yesod Williams. Together with fellow band mates Kaleo Wassman and Bret Bollinger; Pepper began their very own record label this year and in paying homage to The LAW, named the label “LAW” Records. It is Pepper’s mission to make sure good music never goes unheard.

The first official release in April 2003 is actually a re-release of the bands amateur, self-produced, recording from 1999 entitled “Give n’ It”, and is a co-venture with CornerstoneRAS. Re-vamped with 8 additional or bonus tracks this title has sold over 10,000 units to date (which is quite amazing considering it was recorded in a coffee shack in South Kona , HI.).

The second release in September 2004 is from Hawaiian hip-hop group Arena Productions album title, “Afta Party”. There are 18 eclectic tracks to choose from each a little something different. With influences ranging from traditional reggae, to dancehall, hip-hop, rap and of course contemporary Hawaiian music, fused with fun, flavorful, and even conscious lyrical content, it ain’t a party until it’s an “Afta Party”.

The third and most recent release is the first ever PEPPER MOVIE entitled “Searching for the Haj”. Premiered in October 2004 this DVD takes you through a two week tour that the band was sent on by their “guiding light” to find the mythical character we call “The Haj”. This bootleg fashion film was created by our friend for our friends, and is currently out of print.

Be on the look out in 2005 for the first ever LAW Records compilation, “Here Comes The LAW”.
