Kitchenware Records was established in 1982 in Newcastle Upon Tyne, UK as the recording arm of The Soul Kitchen by Keith Armstrong together with Phil Mitchell and Paul Ludfor. Their policy is to develop and encourage new music irrespective of genre. Bands and artists associated with Kitchenware over the years include:

Hurrah!, Martin Stephenson And The Daintees, The Kane Gang, Prefab Sprout, Fatima Mansions, Lighthouse Family, The Changes, Editors, Sirens, Motorettes and Karima Francis.

The label is currently distributed through major label Sony BMG.
