-Chaz Jankel -who writes with Robbie Williams, was in the group Ian Dury & The Blockheads and wrote Ai No Corrida which Quincy Jones (producer of Michael Jackson’s Off The Wall & Thriller) famously covered making it a worldwide smash hit
-Angie Brown -who has worked with Mark Morrison, Chaka Khan and the Rolling Stones
-Yam Who -who have remixed Joss Stone, John Legend Azymuth, Grace Jones and many more credible soul acts
-Funkanala -who had a track on Defected Records big selling Miami 06 CD album and feature many fune musicians including Rob Lee from Faze Action
-Chanan Hanspal -featuring Imaani from Incognito (Great Britain’s Eurovision entry coming second to Dana International in 1998) on vocals
-Motivators -the Manu Dibango (famous saxophonist from Cameroon) rhythm section plus members of the Quantic Soul Orchestra and Reel People
HERE AND NOW’s debut 12 inch releases of “Economy Class”, licensed to the Defected Records MIAMI 2006 and supported by such notable dj luminaries as Mr Scruff, Danny Krivit, Carl Craig, Kyoto Jazz Massive, Stacey Pullen, and Spiritual South and was distributed by West London’s Goya Music. HERE AND NOW’s second single “Be There Tomorrow” and on the flip “Babakar” which was distributed by Honest Jons and remixed by Boston Rodriguez and was Nujazz / Broken Beat tune of the week in Piccadilly Records and wonderfully received by the dj fraternity; Seiji, Patrick Forge, tom wieland (Les Gammas, COMPOST RECORDS), Michael Ruetten, ennio styles and Hugo Mendez from Jazzman, IMPOSSIBLE ARK and Soundway Records are all credited in supporting roles! And following on from the success of the second 12 inch we have theFunkanala album -BE THERE TOMORROW.
And in the summer of 2007 Here And Now Recordings signs the fantastic production duo known as Yam Who
After the success of the Yam Who 12 “You Don’t care About Our Love” Here And Now Recordings sign Motivators. A very talented writer-arranger, producer-dj Steve Laviers under the moniker Motivators proceeded to assemble a super group to record an afro disco funk session between the Faze Action studio in London and Studio Patagonia, Paris. The players consist of MANU DIBANGO’s rhythm section, HANNAH KEMOH from REEL PEOPLE, SCOTT BAYLIS and MAX GRUNHARD from IMPOSSIBLE ARK RECORDS plus a whole host of other fine players.
HAN004 - Motivators - Jobu b/w le Groove de Prune due out on Here And Now Recordings in February 2008 on 12 inch vinyl & download in March 2008. Motivators are the Manu Dibango rhythm section plus members of the Quantic Soul Orchestra and Reel People!
