The Hamsterloco artist collective was born in 1995. In the late nineties the team slowly began its activities as an underground cd-r label, but it was not until 2004 that they finally released their first conventional record with a catalogue number (HL001). Their catalogue combines cd releases with Creative Commons licensed internet releases.

In 2006, they released Spain’s first conventional record (cd audio with normal distribution in record shops) that has a Creative Commons license: Ashbrg’s “Are We Still In The Game?”. Ashbrg encourages the copy of his album as he considers that to be free promotion for his music.

Current artists on the label include Híbrida, Ocaixi, Koulomek, Katatsumuri, Ostranenie, Ashbrg, Lio, DM Berny, Dr.SID, Polodecarne and others.
