Front Porch Recordings was founded in 1997 by the poet and dancer Amy Trussell to document folk-based music recorded in small and home studios. The idea is to capture recordings of the artists at work in the same environment where the music was written. Since its inception Front Porch music has made its way around the world by way of freelance distribution, folk, independent, and poetry radio programs, and downloads on the internet.
