Since the beginning, Friday Music has been the champion home of classic and progressive rock music. With its first offerings from the catalogs of Canned Heat, Manfred Mann’s Earth Band, The Guess Who, the label soon built a strong reputation with the retail and consumer marketplace, and eventually grew the label to include an impressive 300+ recordings from superstars like Yes, The Doobie Brothers, America, Deep Purple, Lynryd Skynyrd, David Lee Roth, Jeff Beck, Santana, Hall and Oates , Al Jarreau, Jefferson Starship, Boz Scaggs, Thin Lizzy, Paul Rodgers, as well as recent projects with blues legend pioneer Johnny Winter, the legendary Ray Manzarek of the Doors, and urban poet/alternative hip-hop favorites Michael Franti & Spearhead.

The ground breaking Johnny Winter’s Live Bootleg Series continues to generate worldwide acclaim as it continues to rack up Top Ten chart action on Billboard’s Blues Chart. With five volumes currently released and a plethora of more unreleased music over the next several years, classic rock and blues fans around the world now have an opportunity to hear Johnny Winter’s personal stash of rare and live recordings from over the past forty years.

The label has been very active in the rediscovery of the legendary late rock/fusion guitarist Tommy Bolin with the extensive Tommy Bolin Archives series of releases, kicking things off with the much lauded 3 CD Box Set, The Ultimate: Redux (FRM 3065)
