Earache Records is the Nottingham, UK, based Extreme record label, renowned for kickstarting the worldwide extreme metal movement. Since the its beginnings, Earache has been responsible for pioneering many of the earliest and releases and has been at the forefront of several significant movements in ’s history. Most of the artists that have been signed to Earache over 15+ years of operation have generated and developed an innovative sound that has defined Earache as one of the most consistently influential labels in the world.

Whether it be (Napalm Death, Terrorizer), (Morbid Angel, Carcass), (Mortiis, Godflesh) or / (Sleep, Cathedral) Earache holds a ground-breaking back catalogue of 300+ releases which have proved vital for the birth and subsequent rise of extreme music’s popularity throughout the years.

Fiercely independent, Earache continues to move forward signing the heaviest and most controversial bands around, such as long-standing US lers Deicide. The label also continues to promote new blood, with bands such as Decapitated, The Berzerker and Biomechanical, each pushing new boundaries of extremity in music, and keeping the label as fresh and as heavy as it was at its inception.
