In a matter of less then 2 years Daly City Records has grown into a multilayered musical phenomenon with contributions form artists such as: Casual and Opio (Souls of Mischief/Hieroglyphics), Mikah9 (Freestyle Fellowship), Raashan Ahmad (Crown City Rockers), Ellen Allien (Bpitchcontrol), Xiu Xiu (5 Rue Christine), Daedelus (Ninja Tune), Ray Barbee (Galaxia), Otto Von Schirach, Weasel Walter (Flying Luttenbachers), Aaron Spectre (Drumcorps), Rotator (Peaceoff), Scissors for Lefty (Rough Trade), Phon. o (Shitkatapult), Geoff White (Ghostly), and Edit (Alphapup), as well as it’s own exclusive personal risers: Dopestyle (Kutmaster Kurt & Kool Keith). Spaceheater, Mophono, Mike Boo, Bloodysnowman, The Bad Hand, Puzzle, and Cuti-Sadda. The list goes on and on, but one thing that is consistent, it’s cross cultural impact.

Influenced by the diverse tastes of its founder, David Y. Wang (Mochipet), The label is geared towards exploring new musical concepts and ideas that break free of traditional ways of thinking. Taking Breakcore into R&B, Hip Hop into Electronics, Death Metal into Hyphy, and Flamenco into IDM; Daly City Hopes to create something fresh and new for the mass music audiences, that have been compounded by an onslaught of retro fitting genres.
