Founded in Edmonton, AB (Canada) in 1979, Bumstead Productions Ltd. has had an undeniable impact on the music scene in both Canada and around the world. Bumstead has excelled in the area of artist management and as an independent record label.

Bumstead owner, Larry Wanagas hails from Edmonton, AB where he began his career in music with a position as a talent buyer at the University of Alberta where he was shunned after having two successful years and actually turning a profit for the clubs! Shortly afterwards, Larry founded Homestead Recorders Ltd. , a full service recording studio in Edmonton. While running the studio, Wanagas met a young Alberta singer named k. d. lang. That meeting marked the beginning of a 15 year rollercoaster of successful tours, multi-platinum sales, accolades and awards. Since that time Wanagas has become known as one of Canada’s premier artist managers with a wealth of experience both domestically and in international markets.

The management arm of Bumstead Productions Ltd. has over the years represented a number of very successful artists including: Susan Aglukark, Big Sugar, The Blue Shadows (featuring Billy Cowsill), Erasure (in North America only), Colin James, Richard Julian, k.d. lang, Madeline Peroux, The Modern Minds (featuring Moe Berg) and Staggered Crossing.

Bumstead Productions’ current management roster is made up of: The Trews, Two Hours Traffic and Yukon Blonde (in conjunction with Nevado Records).
