Benbecula Records is the most successful electronica label in Scotland and since inception in 1999 have ventured into folk, indie and avant garde. Benbecula have appeared at Sonar (Barcelona) and Triptych (Scotland), and been a big favourite of the late great John Peel who invited Benbecula artist Christ to perform a live session in 2003. Benbecula was one of the first labels to be invited onto Warp’s download site bleep.com, and in 2005 the label struck a direct deal with iTunes.

Benbecula is known for its small but perfectly formed roster of artists and carefully selected release schedule. Artists include Christ., Ochre, Reverbaphon, Brian Ellis, Genaro, Wounded Knee, Syntaks, Prhizzm, Greenbank, Operator, Mikael Romanenko and Frog Pocket.

The label will cease physical releases from 01 November 2009.
