Bad Sneakers Records was launched in early 2006, named after the live music night of the same name at legendary music venue The Faversham in Leeds, and founded when the organisers of the night decided to set up a label to sign their favourite bands.

Following early singles by The Sugars and The Acutes, Bad Sneakers found success when early signings Wild Beasts were picked up by Domino (home of Franz Ferdinand and Arctic Monkeys). Bad Sneakers have gone on to release albums by acts including The Sugars (who have recently come off tour with Seasick Steve and Von Bondies and recorded a recent BBC Radio 2 Maida Vale session), The Rosie Taylor Project whose lilting melodic acoustic songs have been winning fans far and wide, and The Lodger who have recently toured Japan, the States and Europe alongside The Long Blondes.

Upcoming releases include new singles by The Sugars and album releases by The Old Romantic Killer Band, new signings Tigers That Talked and musician/producer/DJ The 39 Steps.

Bad Sneakers are one of the most successful independent labels of the moment with an eclectic and diverse roster of artists and musical styles.
