125 Records was born on Oct. 23, 2000, the day Joe Mallon appeared on the TV game show “Who Wants To Be A Millionaire”. He made it to the Hot Seat, and when Regis asked him what he planned to do with his winnings, Joe responded that he and his wife wanted to start a record label. 125 Records is that label.

The label’s name is a play on the amount that Joe won on “Millionaire”: $125,000.
