Vannak visszatérők tavalyhoz képest: a Hidden Orchestra Flight EP-je idén már az Archipelago LP-ként, Long Arm az általam istenített The Branches lemezének többféle remixszel bővített deluxe változataként nevezett.
Stephan Micusnak a neve a fontos. Én az első találkozásunkat választottam ki, de ti képzeljétek oda munkásságának albumrengetegét ('76-tól a mai napig igen aktív a bácsi :)

  • Thoughts on Yimino - Autonoe Vora

    Gen 26 2010, 2:54 di isolationismcom

My CD+DVD of Autonoe Vora (hope I spelled that right) by Yimino arrived in the post this morning, and promptly got ripped to lossless FLAC file and played a few tracks on my desktop speakers, then switched to headphones for a couple plays, then later, a small selection upstairs in the living room hi fi.

First, let me say a big thank you to Yimino and their audio engineers (maybe they are one in the same, I have no idea, the liner notes are sparse on details): Unlike so many of their contemporaries, audio engineering is evidently a priority with this band as sound quality for an electronic music release is nothing short of stunning; very crisp, clean sound, deep but taut bass, and nice clean, high fidelity samples devoid of embarrassing clicks and pops, and so on. This in and of itself makes for a very pleasant listening experience. I wish most of the electronic music I listen to was in the same realm of sound quality.

The arrangement itself is also interestingly assembled, as each song more or less leads to the next…
