Hope & Sorrow
One of the most promising rising stars of hip-hop today, Wax Tailor, also known as JC LeSaoût, confirms his position in the music scene, along with his musical indentity, in Hope & Sorrow, his second album. Each tune is a joy to listen to, flitting effortlessly from reggae to soul whilst maintaining a hip-hop sound from the background breakbeats that flow throughout the length of the album. A mixture of instrumentals and songs, with some truly talented vocalists making guest appearances, the album plays out much like a film, with audio samples laden craftily throughout it. With organs, flutes, strings, pads, in fact just about everything making an appearance at some point along the course of this album, alongside some truly excellent scratches, JC LeSaoût is without a doubt, a tailor of some of the finest, soulful and provoking down-tempo hip-hop being created today.
Ott 4 2007, 14:31 di keoshiHi there everyone (you all 3 people that -might- read this)
I've compiled a small, small list of the best electronic albums I've run into in the last couple of months.
Hope you like it and discover new artists.
Music genres go from jazz to electro, passing through lounge/chill-out, so it's pretty damn eclectic.
Modeselektor - Happy Birthday
These guys are the shnizzel. The album itself is so varied. Definitely a must listen.
edit: best tunes
-The Wedding Toccata Theme
-Edgar (this one is SO powerful.....)
Wax Tailor - Hope & Sorrow
Genious French dude, one of the best albums I've had the chance to listen to in the last months. Great samples, melodies, arrangements - if you like (futuristic) jazz, this is your stuff.
Bonobo - Days to Come
Simple and effective. Beautiful music to chill-out.
Read about it in a website and fell in love with the music the first time I listened to it.
Tipper - The Seamless Unspeakable Something
