In this artless setting Kría’s performance felt even more other-worldy – in the most wonderful way! She did a haunting cover of The Paris Sisters’ „I Love How You Love Me“ and played her „very unofficial“ song „Creator“, before giving the camera a heart-melting smile. And if you are wondering, why you only get to see this enchanting session now, a few months after the artist paid us a visit, then her belated note might win you over as well: „I had made a new yahoo folder called FIRST AND FOREMOST, where i had put this letter so to reply it in time. I must have never again check out my FAF -folder. Anyway. If i never gave permission for you to put these videos up, I greatly apologize. I´m a shy one but this is well shot and recorded and you’re welcome to put it up!“

The most recent edition of TtAS was the product of one of those “bug up the ass” things. Not the sexual “bug up the ass” kind. The idea kind. Wow. Did I really just start this playlist with a bug-sex joke? Sick.
Anyway. This was the “all-covers” edition of the radio show. Hopefully you got to hear it, as I felt it was one of the stronger ones in a good long while. If not, you can always tune in some other week and hope I do it again.

I think it's really important that intelligent articles are written on the appeal of this music. I especially like that it pulls apart notions of both a simplistic nostalgic approach to this music, and an approach that only sees these songs as anti-feminist.
Compare that to this piece of rubbish (no surprise) on Pitchfork:
One Fad Can Lead To Another
One of the biggest problems I have with the heavyweights of indie music media is they are too goddamn serious... and that title says it all really, with its tone of foreboding. Then you've got terrible lines like: "what is the need for new girl groups who produce albums?" Umm, because they enjoy making them and some of us enjoy hearing them.
Basically the contention seems to be that a revival would be valid, if the process of having professional songwriters write for these groups were revived as well.
First of all, what revival? I suspect these articles are probably the beginning of what will become a self-fulfilling myth of a revival.
