Gen 5 2014, 8:39 di Mark_HWhen rating albums I try to do so in a historical context, that is how an album compares against the entire musical ancestry. This means that the best album for any given year, which most people would rate with top marks may not receive the same rating in my charts as only the best albums of all time should get the highest ratings... This chart includes compilations, live albums and also any non-Prog albums I buy.
Note: I vote on a bell curve, anything above 6 is really good, anything below 4 really isn't :D
9+ - Masterpiece
8 - Incredible

Apr 7 2010, 22:14 di LionheartattackIn order to keep my Albums I Own list in reasonable lenghts I've decided to "publish" my newly-bought albums lists as annual journals. Here's my haul in 2009. (The order of albums in a month is the order I've received or collected them from a shop. If they've been a part of the same order, they're in alphabetical order. So, basically, even I cannot say whether some consecutive albums are a part of the same order or just accidentally in alphabetical order. And no-one should care.)

Nov 3 2009, 12:44 di Anneli_ElisabetWhich bands/artist do you own the most albums by?
*counting from memory* four Alanis Morissette ... five Queen ... five Håkan Hellström ... six Rufus Wainwright ... Yeah, Rufus it is.
What was the last song you listened to?
Leonard Cohen - So Long, Marianne
What's in your CD player right now?
My CD player is on the other side of the sea, so nothing. Latest album I bought and uploaded to my laptop was Lily Allen - It's Not Me, It's You.
What's your favorite local band/group?
The Lloyd, I guess.
What was the last show you attended?
Peace & Love 2009! Go Borlänge! ;)
What's the most musically involved you have ever been?
I sing. Choirs, mostly. I've had singing lessons, and a few piano lessons. Oh, and cello lessons, waaaay back. I have a standing invitation to sing the solo of "O Holy Night" on midnight mass in my home church and when I was a kid, I used to write little songs to amuse myself. I still make up nonsensical improvs when I'm out walking without my walkman ... I think that's about it.
