  • The B-sides to this album really make this a fertile period for the band....I think had the tracklisting been re-done with the stronger b-sides added to the album and maybe 2 or 3 tunes removed from the running time it would have been hailed as a classic. That said, the Music On Vinyl repressing is just FANTASTIC. The songs have had new life breathed into them. I'd strongly urge a listen to it if you can find a copy.
  • I remember back in 2001 when it first came out it got mixed reviews (to put it politely) and I didn't understand why. I still don't understand why it gets such a bad time now but each to their own. I'd put it on a par with Everything Must Go, but it's not up to the standard of TIMTTMY for me.
  • Loved this album back then and still love it to this day. Very underrated indeed. Up there with my favourites but not quite in the same league as their first three albums.
  • Manic Street Preachers definitely have some underrated material but this album is simply very mediocre. It has some of their most interesting melodies but the deliberately muted production doesn't work at all, especially on the more aggressive tracks...
  • Really like the comparison to "Sandinista." Know Your Enemy is a very eclectic album, but if any of it's songs come up on shuffle, I rarely skip it. Miss Europa Disco Dancer is a guilty pleasure of mine, but I really enjoy the whole album.
  • Been over ten years, but I'm finally 'getting' KYE.
  • i regret how i considered my self buying an Ocean Spray's single for 10 years passed...
  • this is great! freedom of speech is one of my favourites!
  • Best album by the Manics in my opinion. I agree - "very underrated".
