The new Beithíoch release Summoning the Past is now out and can now be downloaded in one of two ways.
1. A shortened version free from hiarctow.com in mediocre quality mp3 format.
2. An extended version (with an additional 18 minutes of all new never before-heard music) in various high quality formats from the Beithíoch bandcamp page - for a mere 2.50 euro.
Summoning the Past is largely made up of tracks originally released on other albums/demos/etc, here finally brought to a more ‘definitive’ level of completion. Summoning the Past is also intended to presage the next Beithíoch album, showcasing how the project has matured stylistically over the years, and to give a bit of a sense of what can be expected from new material.

Monkey With Car Keys is an electronic music side project of Irish soundscapers Síol Na Gréine, presenting a full-length album for free download @ hiarctow.com.
"Filament in Strata is a bit of an eclectic collection, mixing DnB, IDM, ambient techno and even the odd shade of synthpop. Unifying the whole thing is a sense of structure as an emergent fact of these gradually increasing layers in the electronic 'orchestration'; similar maybe to Austrian metal band Summoning but with a poppier, snappier sense of melody.
Somehow I want this all to express some of the delight and dumb fun I get out of just seeing the little things in the world and thinking about them in the bigger complex picture called reality."

The long awaited new album from Irish black metallers Beithíoch, is available now - complete and free - from hiarctow.com. "Dúchas" translates roughly to "instinct", or "that which is native", and is inspired by the glacier-torn landscape of Ireland's north.
Stylistically this album throws up a few surprises: much of it moves away from the droney, minimalist style of the debut album (and subsequent EP) towards a sound that has more melodic intricacies and more subtleties in the arrangements. At times this album flirts with an old school doom/death sound whilst at other moments hearkens more to early Gorgoroth, Ancient or Immortal. More importantly though, this album is a serious challenge to the staleness and mediocrity of modern metal.

Cryosyncopy is back with a new album, the first in two years for the project. Black Ocean combines the moody, spacious, picturesque sound of debut album Recollection of Lost Fragments with the gritty cyberpunk beats and structures of side project Mushin. The effect is like listening to the sinister, technology pervaded world of William Gibson's Neuromancer novel.

Dic 6 2010, 11:27 di ZhelezobetonThe German band Maeror Tri existed from early 1988 to the end of 1996. Over these nine years they have made a serious contribution to the development of the European post-industrial scene and had significant influence on many young musicians. Much of this was also achieved by their own record label Drone Records which has discovered a lot of talented artists. Even now, after the break-up of Maeror Tri, the band members continue to excite fans with recordings of their new projects Troum and 1000schoen.
Unlike many industrial and noise musicians exploiting the themes of violence, politics and social problems in their creativity, Maeror Tri turned attention to the transcendental quality of sound, to its ability to expand consciousness and to awaken timeless and non-personal spiritual experiences. They recorded their music, which can be formally called industrial drone ambient, with the use of guitars, percussion, tape loops, various objects and effects, turning everything in a coherent flux of unconscious drones.
Ott 21 2010, 3:57 di LukeKnightColumbus musician Luke Knight (Methuselah, Apollo) has officially self-released the debut full-length album of his ever-evolving We Were Ravens solo project. The album, entitled Skies, is a conceptual piece based on the constantly evolving nature of the sky. The album can be downloaded (in a multitude of both lossless and compressed formats) for free at the official We Were Ravens webstore.
Stylistically the album marks a departure from the more post-rock and ambient oriented We Were Ravens EP releases. While still retaining a strong post-rock influence, Knight has continued along the evolutionary path first set forth on the "Obelisk" EP by drawing influence from a vast array of diverse musical genres such as noise, industrial, shoegaze, musique concrete, black metal, and drone doom. Some of the artists which directly influenced Knight during the creation of the album include:
Aidan Baker, Andrew Chalk, Belong, Black Dice, Cisfinitum…

Adhradh, the new album from Síol Na Gréine, is available now as a free Creative Commons licensed download.
Continuing the narrative, motivic approach to ambient music found on preceding album Nihil, Adhradh pares back to a soundworld of contemplative austerity that is both calming and cathartic.
The accompanying visual art is by photographer/graphic artist Apostol (http://topasol.blogspot.com).
