  • Agreed. The title track (both parts) and "The Talking Drum" are fantastic instrumental pieces and "Exiles" is one of my absolute favorite Crimson songs. I think this and Lizard are tied for my pick of favorite King Crimson album. I wish I had both it on vinyl...
  • I used to consider Poseidon my favorite Crimson album (strange choice, I know), but the more I listen to this album, the more I think it's my favorite. This might be Crimson's most dynamic album. The heavy songs are really powerful, and "Book of Saturdays" and "Exiles" are two of the most beautiful songs KC have ever produced. I think the Wetton era might be my favorite era of Crimson.
  • I understand people who dislike this ............ whatever, me... I feel growing up
  • Brilliant record. Probably my favorite of the band.
  • This one and Starless and Bible Black eluded me for a while after I'd become a King Crimson fan. I was thoroughly in love with Red, In the Court of the Crimson King, In the Wake of Poseidon and Discipline, but these two just left me scratching my head. Fortunately I gave them both several more listens and allowed them to get their hooks in me. Years later, it's hard for me to remember a time when Larks' and Starless weren't linchpins of my musical life. They're masterful and represent everything that Progressive Rock should aspire to. IMO.
  • Robert Fripp's guitar work on this album is masterful. "Book of Saturday" is a very lovely tune.
  • MASTERPIECE.[2]
  • This is my favorite release from King Crimson, and perhaps my favorite album period. The songs, although completely different from each other, seem to meld into one long conceptual piece of music. Awesome.
  • one of the most important vinyls in my life
  • Godlike. Anyone who finds themselves really enjoying this one should get hold of the 13-disc anniversary edition of it, because there's a ton of good live stuff and alternate takes to be found on there.
