@kuchitsu how about only tagging the SONG 'used in anime' that way people know that song was used for an anime but the band is not just making songs for anime

    Luglio 2013
  • kuchitsu

So what do you propose instead of "anime" tag? "Made some songs for anime"? That's long and not cool.

Well... I consider myself as an otaku, and Im new here so few days ago I started to tag my music, and I saw this "anime" tag and I was like WTF? from when anime is music?those two things are completely different I don't know why people use this tag... but still I don't hate them, this doesn't boder me either, however I support your manifesto ;)

This group is correct! I really dislike seeing mindless tags with which many Japanese artists are tagged. Leave it to the fictional bands like K-on or DMC. But dunno why, J-tags somehow annyo me kinda more xd

    Gennaio 2012
  • Yogurtito

@SmokinWickerman, in last.fm i dunno, but i would assume that "japanese" tag alone includes anything japanese; from post rock and punk to pop and animu musics. While "j-pop" is well, only japanese pop.

    Novembre 2011
  • SmokinWickerman

Whats the difference between "J-pop" and the "Japanese" tag? apparently nothing :L

I agree, with this anime tag business, but it's really not that big of a deal to get all worked up about...

ugh that tag drives me nuts. the only things that should be tagged with anime are things like k-on! because it's an actual anime band/

You know what? Whoever uses their song on crap such as anime deserve this horrendous tag. Enjoy your crap fanbase!

  • HeadphoneGirl11

I can't believe someone tagged Ryuichi Sakamoto as "anime". He has never done a song for an anime. I hate when people think everything from Japan is related to "anime" Some people seriously think Japan is anime world or something like that

  • evebanger666

I hate 'anime' 'japanese' j-...' 'k-...' etc etc -__-. No.

    Giugno 2011
  • squezey

I hate this tag because just because a artist did a song for an anime doesn't mean they are completely associated with anime altogether. Music is music, when I listen to a song I don't listen to it because I liked the anime it may have been used in but because I just like the song itself.

    Maggio 2011
  • purefault

I love anime and also agree with this. Unless it's an actual anime soundtrack being tagged, or a group/artist that ONLY does music for anime, then this tag should be non-existent.

"anison"?, that's new...oh well, learn something new everyday.

    Dicembre 2010
  • RSSRII

I prefer to use the less ambiguous tag of "anison" where it applies to artists who have done theme songs for anime. Directly tagging artists as "anime" has no meaning. At least, not in my mind.

v That's because there are too many people who think that: Japanese cutesy song = anime song. Seriously, is it that hard to understand that not all cutesy Japanese songs are used in anime series (and not all anime songs are cutesy)?

  • teh_kimi

Someone told me they had tagged AKB48 "anime" because they sound like anime. How can you even sound like anime anyway <--- oooh, this reminds me of years ago when I had Ai Otsuka's "Sakuranbo" playing on my Myspace and some weeaboo asked me what animu it was from. MASSIVE FAIL.

This is one of the best Last.fm groups ever <3. Those weeaboos who tag certain Japanese singers as "anime" just because they've had a couple of songs featured in some anime series really get on my nerves >_>. Some people should learn there's Japanese music beyond anime openings/endings.

I tag the song(s) that are used in anime as 「アニメ」 BUT ALL other songs by that artist are tagged as J-pop, アングラ系 etc. But would tagging K-ON songs as アニメ be good? Too, I don't like the tag 'visual kei' either, including variations of kana and spelling. I use subgenres of visual kei to be more specific, like ikare kei and eroguro kei to be more specific. LOVE THIS GROUP :D
