  • Redditors, which albums can you listen to from start to finish?

I tend to have musical ADD but there are some albums I'll listen to the first song from, and absolutely have to listen all the way through. No skipping.

They are few and far between:
The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me, by Brand New
    Fisherman's Woman, by Emiliana Torrini
Time Without Consequence, by Alexi Murdoch
    Frengers, by Mew
    Futures, by Jimmy Eat World
    Mezzanine, by Massive Attack
    Figure 8, by Elliott Smith
    Boxer, by The National

    What are yours?

That requires we avoid trendy but vapid albums.

  • I mean... every album I own I can listen to all the way through... with exception to the albums of P.O.D. and The Offspring.. oh and that terrible album my friend gave me one time of a metal band.... and maybe Van Morrison's greatest hits because he has some slow ones. So basically, there are defenitely some albums I can't listen to all the way through @erasedlittleman

Pain is temporary. Quitting lasts forever.

Every album I listen mostly. I also tend to stay away from compilation. There are some album I cannot finish because I try them and dislike them quite bad, but even in those cases I tend to pull through and never go back to them.

All of them. Albums are meant to be listened to in full.

  • I understand albums are put together as a single body of work by the artist, but that's not how I want to listen to music. Or, in some cases with hip-hop, there's interludes and breaks where the performers just talk and talk and talk (I'm looking at you, Missy Elliot) which are nice the first time through but that I always skip over after my initial listen.

When I want to appreciate an album on it's own, I'll try and listen all the way through.

The albums I will usually make time to listen to in full:
    Massive Attack - Mezzanine
    Moby - Play
    DJ Shadow - ...Endtroducing
    Underworld - Beaucoup Fish
    Most David Bowie

  • I'm understanding this question as, "what albums do you need to listen to from start to finish" since I tend to listen to whole albums.
    Naam--The Ballad of Starchild
    Ancestors--Neptune with Fire
    Solid Gold--Synchronize
    The Cave Singers--No Witch

This past week that's been it. Of course there's others but I don't want to make a list with 12+ albums on it.

  • Give Us Rest or (A Requiem Mass In C, The Happiest Of All Keys)

  • When I listen to music I listen to albums in full. So everything unless I dont like it and I turn it off.
