Judging from the Shoutbox it seems like I'm not the only one who received that Spam mail from you. I could have used the Shoutbox as well but wanted to leave a more... persistent message.
* "As one of Lucky Soul’s top listeners," -- I'm not a top listener of this crap, I actually never listened to any of their songs nor will I ever.
* I don't care about Christmas.
* I don't care about the UK Christmas charts.
* I don't care about any charts except my own.
* Who the fuck is X Factor? Actually... I don't care.
* I don't want to buy that stuff for 40p now, not even for the same amount in Euro, Dollar, $insertyourcurrencyhere.
* I definitely won't forward that mail to any of my friends.
If you don't like spam and don't want spam you could always use the settings provided on this site so that you don't receive emails from last.fm. You know, ticking that box that says "don't email me at all!" might just work for you. Or even delete your email address. It's quite clear in the T&Cs that you don't have to have one. Call me crazy but if you find it that offensive you might consider deleting your profile. Then you would never have to put up with the horror of receiving one email.
I couldn't give a shit about the Christmas charts, X-Factor or Lucky Soul (very annoying voice) but I don't really see what the big deal is with one email for I have mastered the art of deleting from my Inbox. It took me all of a second.
I'm not particularly keen on this track either and I don't watch much TV or listen to the radio so am not affected by X-academoy idol. And yet I'll probably buy this track cos I think it's an interesting experiment. If I hadn't received the email I might never have heard about it. It's not like this happens every day, in fact i can't remember the last time last.fm sent me an email.
@ChocolateSlice: Yeah, I forgot to mention that stupid link at the end of the mail. I still want to receive mail from last.fm and got all the stuff on the notifications page ticked. So I definitely do not want to "unsubscribe from all Last.fm emails without any nonsense". But I do not want to receive any Spam aka UCE, kthx.
@cleomedes: Neither me can remember the last time last.fm sent me a Spam mail. And you're right, one mail is not the end of the world. But I prefer to protest when the first unwanted mass-mail hits my inbox to stop this crap just when its starts.
Actually, if I sent out Spam, advertising V1gr4 and promise to spend 1% of the income to a charity, is it ok if I send that to you? I mean, that's also an interesting experiment and you wouldn't have known about my great service if I didn't sent it to you, right?
