    NU GAZE

    ok, so i've heard this (kinda daft) term thrown about, with regards to the new showegaze influenced upstarts. i went and checked some of it out and OH MY. lots of it is GREAT.

    My most favorite of the newgaze group is The Daysleepers, Asobi Seksu, Autolux and The December Sound. Although this is not anything that I liked.

  • You guys seriously need to stop mixing shoegaze with post-rock;
    god is an astronaut - post rock
    65daysofstatic - post-rock
    M83 - indie electronic

    hm

    no need for arguing, for me for example, post-rock mixes nearly everything, it definitely has some of the features of shoegaze (sound, i mean). genres are nothing anyway, music is important. but, for fans of shoegaze, i´d greatly recommend some of the ethereal bands, cos they are pure beauty - love spirals downwards, autumns grey solace and stuff like this..

    my bloody valentine

  • M83 should be considered shoegaze-inspired laptopcore. Seriously, stop confusing shoegaze with post rock. Seriously.

  • Momcore

  • The Autumns. Although, they made records in the '90's too, so I don't know if "nu gaze" works. The Grimlets -- San Francisco grunge / deathgaze, a la Cocteau Twins meets Bauhaus.
