    eh

I don't get it. Why make up a list?
I could make one who'd take the whole page.
    But who cares?

sad is a bit of an ambiguos term, say to me, if Im in a certain mood, a sad song wont feel sad to me, it will feel hopeful. Theres no reason to get bitchy because someone elses sad song doesnt chime exactli with your pre-concieved notion of what a sad song should be.

on my boulevard, you better bring your bodyguard
  • aren't all songs sad?

  • i have playlist named: play only when very very very bad...
    it's depressing...
    all songs there r sad.
    sad for me.

  • I listen to happy songs when I'm sad, and sad songs sparsely and only when I'm happy enough to tolerate them.

Sad music when sad just dwells on misery. I guess that's why emo is popular now, though.

  • @ soulfire

actually, Love will come through is one of Travis' happiest songs.. that i know of.. at least one of the least depressing.. quite positive actually

when im down i simply cant tolerate happy music.. makes me sick

please do share yours. I'm always wanting to hear more sad songs <3

  • Sad songs </3.

  • pop artist do make sad songs they just cant do it right most of the time cos the only purpose of their sad songs is to make their albums look deeper.

Well if you want the real sadness listen to anathema ; one last goodbye, parisianne moonlight.still not crying;then pass to "a fine day to exit, leave no trace, barriers, temporary peace , flying, a natural disaster and make a big exit with "are you there"

The saddest band i've ever seen is carissa's wierd. All their songs have the potential to cry.Bright eyes is the most depressed band(man)i know..
Cranberries is sad most of the time. Cure is more then sad,it is suicidal
    i can tell much more..

but ofcourse;my list would never mention any song by christina agulera or any Mtv doll like that :)

  • When I'm looking for something really down and depressing, I slide away from songs with really emotional lyrics and really dig into a song with a really melancholy, morose, almost haunting vibe to them.
Like Sigur Ros, for example. Heres the Untitled 1 video for anyone whos interested. I'm still figuring out text links so you'll have to copy and paste.

james - you can't tell how much suffering (on a face that's always smiling)

that sort of fits nicely into this group i should think

  • if you want to hear the saddest song of all time go listen to:

"Hello, I'm In Delaware" by Dallas Green/City and Colour

    Look alive, gentlemen.

I listen to grunge most of the time, particularly the pumpkins, becasue i find the mellancholy reflectiveness is so much more engaging during a depression than overtly sad songs (stuff like pop songs about death or emo music).
However if I feel an acute sadness fused with anger approaching, then I usually do need something a bit stronger. I usually try 'the used'

Sex is slavery, depravity is emancipation.
