Would you change If you knew that you would die today?

  • Would you change If you knew that you would die today?

If you knew that you would die today
If you saw the face of God and love
Would you change? What do you do?

  • Philosophical questions...

I believe that we should give a special meaning to our lives...We should give love and compassion and not to be afraid of death...(As much as possible)

  • Hmmm

life loses its meaning when you know the date of death, hence God did not give you this information

Cast your eyes on the ocean, cast your soul to the sea, when the dark night seems endless, please remember me.....
  • I wouldn't change a bit

I know each day is special and every day when I wake up in the morning I thank for being. So I remember it. Sometimes I forget it, but it's ok.
I have plans for tomorrow, I remember the past, but I try to make the best out of my day, out of my every-day life.

  • I guess not.

None can change (sincerely) in one day. It is just because I'm going to die but the really important is what we shared and what we learned, our whole life, not our last day.

I would like to write a few things watching the sea...

    oh...

If I knew, I continued my life with love.
I love God and I believe him.
Every night I hope to see the God's face in my sleep.
If I see him, I will kiss him.
I didn't change my life, because I believe to my way.
    I believe love...
If I knew that I will die, I fall in love again...
    I adore love...

    رقصان می‌گذرم از آستانه اجبار

    I would just grinned

  • Yes, I would change,

.... if I knew I would die today.
I would put things in perspective and I would call up all the people who really matter..., like children, family and friends.
I would not change if I saw the face of god because I would have too many questions for him/her... if he really exists. He would have to tell me why he has been so lazy in making the world a better place for us all..

Is God willing to prevent evil, but not able? Then he is not omnipotent.
Is he able, but not willing? Then he is malevolent.
Is he both able and willing? Then whence cometh evil?
Is he neither able nor willing? Then why call him God? (Epicurus)

I changed people. People will be more honest, open, nice. Without deceit, irony, hypocrisy, megalomania.

God is not a person but only the experience that the whole existence is on alive phenomenon; it is not matter alone. It is throbbing with life! ... That it has a heartbeat. The moment you know that the universe has heartbeat, you have discovered God.

Death is more condensed than life. Life is spread over seventy, eighty years; death happens in a single moment. It is so condensed, that if you have lived your life rightly, you will be able to enter into the mystery of death. And the mystery of death is that it is only a cover. Inside is your immortality, your eternal life.

  • No.

  • Curious

The moment you know the universe has a heartbeat, you have discovered God.

I like the sounds of this statement and I would love to embrace it.
However, what is the function of this God in our lives?
Why is it worthy of worship and reverence?

Could it be that human beings have invented a God because we "need" answers.
Why don't we just temper our egos and live each day to the fullest, without the complications that come with this God.

So far, God has been a divisive entity for mankind.

People have different understandings, different ways of looking at things, different interpretations. And they have to be allowed this freedom.
But intelligence is dangerous. Intelligence means you will start thinking n your own; you will start looking around on your own. You will not believe the scriptures; you will believe only in your own experience...
There is no meaning existing in life -- one has to create it. Only if you create it, will you discover it. It has be invented first. It is not lying there like a rock; it has to be created like a song. It is not a thing; it is a significance that you bring through your consciousness.

Finally; Life is not a riddle, it is a mystery. A riddle is something that can be solved, a mystery is something that can never be solved. A mystery is something you can become one with. You can dissolve into it, you can melt into it -- you yourself can become mysterious.

    Pride

It is hard to answer. It is hard to feel that moment. Our answers are kind of philosophical sentences which we taught ourselves during our lives. Hopes keep you alive. I prefer death as it is. Knowing exact moment of the death will fill me full of sorrows in the beginning. I am not frightened of dying; it touches my pride and makes me ashamed. I may love more, live better when I know I am near to the death, but knowing the exact date, the exact time will bring me down in the first moment.
Since I have seen eyes of people who know may die sooner than expected and the face of people after the sudden death of their dearest, believe me, I would not let the death to overcome me. But when it comes suddenly like always, so it is there and no more chance, I will embrace it…

"After great pain, a formal feeling comes
The Nerves sit ceremonious, like Tombs
The stiff Heart questions was it He, that bore,
    And Yesterday, or Centuries before?

    The Feet, mechanical, go round
Of Ground, or Air, or Ought
    A wooden way
    Regardless grown,
A Quartz contentment, like a stone

This is the Hour of Lead
    Remembered, if outlived,
As Freezing Persons, recollect the Snow
First Chill then Stupor then the letting go"

    God & Love

Have you heard this Bijan Najdi’s poem?

    I like the Sun
because of your dress on clothesline
    the rain
    if it falls
    on your blue umbrella,
And since you pray to God
    I have become a theist…

I believe that LOVE helps to see God.

    In persian:
    آفتاب را دوست دارم
به خاطر پیراهنت روی طناب رخت
    باران را
    اگر که می بارد
    برچترآبی تو
    وچون تو نماز می خوانی
    من , خداپرست شده ام

    بیژن نجدی

  • there are two possibilities - either I will show my true face that day or will wear a mask of philosophical acceptance.
Right now I try to guess what would prevail - gratefulness for all I had in my life or regret about all lost opportunities.

  • It doesn't really matter... you can't change the way of the life...

Probably, I would take a cup of Spanish red wine, I would listen jazz music and I wait until the end with a relaxed smile... or maybe I would run and run to anywhere without any hope... I really don't know...

  • is this question about the ideal death? if so then -->

the morning of that day i would like to see the last dawn, in the afternoon i'd like to meet the most precious people of my life and visit the most important places. in the evening i'd love to set a bonfire at the shore of a river and die embracing my beloved gazing at the starsky.

  • hear the silence

I close my eyes, I want to run like a river flows.
I feel the distance, I stare at the space, I want to fly where the wind can blow.
Nevermore sorrow, no more pain, no more tears
    No more sorrow ...

Silence teaches you how to sing.
  • I

    Let you life explodes
like pelting the full wine jug
but do not see how the spirit shrine
    in bottomless powder turns

Cast your eyes on the ocean, cast your soul to the sea, when the dark night seems endless, please remember me.....
