    Group update

Now, this group is boring and just another drop in the ocean.. I want to make this group big and meaningful.

    What we need:
    1. New image
    2. More artist and label connections
    3. More articles, recommendations and activity in the forum
    4. Overview text

    1: New image
The image we have now isn't really good. You can make your own or find a cool picture on the net, just be sure to add it to this forum thread, or send me (Tecfan) a message.

    2: Artist and label connections
Submit artist and label connections to this thread. Without the connections, we won't get new members.

    3: Articles and recommendations
Keep on sending your journals and recommendations! This is what groups are all about.

    4: Overview text
I think we should make a fancy overview text, introducing the visitor to "bass".

This group should be like a source where people can find general information about what role the bass has in a band, famous bassists and the best bass songs/fills!

But I need your help, what's the best bass fills and songs? Who are the absolute best bassists? feel free to answer to this thread.

(What I mean about fancy overview text is this: Greasemonkeys.. This is exactly what the user wants to find, links to the best Last.fm Greasemonkey scripts)

I really suck at graphics so don't ask me for pics lol

    About the connections:
    Mr. Big
    Niacin
    Gordian Knot
    Liquid Tension Experiment
    Liquid Trio Experiment
    King Crimson
    Atheist
    Cynic
    Death
    Spiral Architect

    Labels:
    Magna Carta

I don't wanna sound harsh, but I think my suggestions are far more bass-oriented than SOADek's.

There is no Religion higher than Truth
  • And what about this baby as the picture ? :P

As for the bands, some with pretty nasty bass players would be a good choice I guess :P

    Porcupine Tree
    Riverside
    Tool
(well, the likes of Dream Theater or King Crimson goes without saying :P)
    Dir en grey
Motoi Sakuraba (but that may be a little too "exotic" for your liking :P).

    .
  • PORCUPINE TREE

for the week of 15 Apr 2007 – 22 Apr 2007 my Elliott Smith plays tallied to 6,666.

    creepy.
  • I can't believe the Beatles aren't on the artist connections. Paul McCartney was one of the first bassists to move out of the back beat and take a more prominent role in the song. He was an inspiration for most of the bassists for the bands that are on the list, so surely he deserves to be on the connections.
