This group is a coalition of people who are disgusted by people who become suddenly 'true fans' of a certain band because they heard it on some oversensationalized television show. I don't think anyone here would make the claim that they hate the success of their favorite bands, if so, then they are asshats as well. It is more about listening to a genre of music not because you particularly like it or because it speaks to you in any way, but because it is 'cool' to."

That, and syphilis is our favorite STD. this group is for people who, while complying with the above quote, sit around and make snarky comments that involve the word "asshat" about most anything while listening to pretentious music. because whenever you hear a 12-year-old girl wearing skinny jeans and sparkly flats list her favorite artists as "Jesse McCartney, Hilary Duff, The Decemberists, The Pussycat Dolls, and Chingy," while chewing the newest flavor of orbit and texting her friends on her rhinestone-encrusted cell phone, don't you die a little inside?

    "I'm beginning to suspect production people follow Last FM listeners and other sites like it in order to get ideas for the soundtracks of their shows." They probably do. I mean, it's a good strategy. You find out what people like that most haven't heard of, then people who watch the show like it even more because it introduces them to a band they've never heard of. This makes them feel cool, then they start listening to that one song from the show and tell others about the show.... therefore gaining more viewers. Short version: If you offer coolness to people, they will come.

    You guys must stop complaining about people who like your favorite bands because they heard about them in a magazine or by a friend. What the freakin hell, you want the exclusivity over your soooo underground and amazing bands, it's kind of homosexual if you guys want my opinion. You should be glad people like them too and avoid listening to these bands in your wardrobe so that you are the only one to know them. Though people who discover music throught the OC or/and TV in general are total asshat.

    Dearest by Buddy Holly was on Juno and now its the top most played song of his. I think his other songs are better than Dearest but Peggy Sue is many times better than Dearest. I did like Buddy Holly before Juno was a movie but Juno pretty much massacred his charts, but at least he is getting plays but its the same thing like The kinks.
