How the hell can we play last.fm on iPad 2 in a proper way?! It doesn't work on iPad, doesn't work on Android, doesn't work in Europe... so why are we playing them so much money every month?!

Problem solved! Thanks to my discovery of this group and my subsequent trip down the rabbit hole into the magical land of jailbreaking, I am now able to scrobble in realtime from Scrobbl without having to open the app or leave it running in the foreground... excellent!

I'm still trying to use iScrobble Premium on my iPad, but it only scrobbles tracks when the app is open. And it takes forever and it's dumb. Can anyone else scrobble in realtime? And how are you doing it? Thanks.

Some reading reveals that the iPad does not scrobble when playing music from the iPod application. You can use the iScrobble application, which will scrobble your listens in realtime from the background: http://itunes.apple.com/gb/app/iscrobble-pick-and-mix/id319584503?mt=8
