For those who believe.

The album cover. The artwork. The atmosphere. The songs. The performance. The voice. The flow. The absolute clarity of vision. The intensity. The darkness. The exhilaration. The heartbreak. The bliss. The beauty. The power. The passion. The majesty. The utter utter perfection.

The era.

An integrated rock band for the first time - rock as we've never heard it before. The visceral thrill of listening to the driving rhythms of Hotel. To simply call them rhythms would be an injustice. My god.

What. An. Album.

Absolute, stunning musical perfection.

The album - from the choirgirl hotel.

1998, what a year :)

This is the album I play when I'm home alone at night. Sitting in the dark with this music everywhere is a transporting experience.

I think Little Earthquakes is rawer, and might have the upper hand in a couple of individual songs, but choirgirl has the variety, the band and TWO brilliant tracklist sequences. On the other hand, following Winter with Happy Phantom always annoyed me.
