I guess the RT_PREEMPT patch might not be necessary for Jack to get realtime priority in recent kernels, anyway. With an unpatched 2.6.30, Jack is running at full realtime priority.   Urgh. Amarok 2's dependency on embedded MySQL 5.1 prevents it from ever entering Debian Lenny, without backporting all of MySQL 5.1 to Lenny -- if that would even work. I guess that neither BerkleyDB nor sqlite and none of robust PostgreSQL's embedded suport, were cool enough for the Amarok team :x

  Ya, if you just want a good interface to your last.fm account, try Vagalume. OMG, It's light, simple, fast, and well-integrated. I thought I could only get this from Amarok. Honestly, why not incorporate the Vagalume code into Amarok?

  Amarok 2.1 is really usable. Tabs for easy use of "lyrcis", "wikipedia" services are great. Bu we need more! There should be some ID3 tag improvements and more playlist functionality, in my opinion.

  I think there is a consensus here: 2.0 had good ideas but wasn't great as an overall user experience. 2.1 fixes lots of those little niggles and is great to use. 2.2 looks like it will be parfait of awesomeness spread on hot musical toast.
