Which bands/artist do you own the most albums by?
Physical CDs? I'd say either Bon Jovi or Billy Joel.

What was the last song you listened to?
well most of the Monty Python stuff I'm listening to is sketches and stuff, but the last song was Protest Song.

What was in your CD that is overplayed on your iPod right now?
what?? Do you mean what album is overplayed on my mp3 player? I guess probably Jackson Browne's Saturate Before Using at the moment.

What was the last show you attended?
The Moody Blues on April 27th!

What was the greatest show you've ever been to?
They were all great in different ways, but I'd have to say that seeing the Moodies live twice was an amazing experience and I'd love to see them again!

What's the worst show you've ever been to?
New Found Glory, summer '04. I like them, but they sucked live.

What's the most musically involved you have ever been?
I was in school choir from 4th grade - 12th grade, though CHSE choir was by far my best experience. We participated in competitions and won numerous awards. Also, I recorded with them my senoir year, and had a high soprano 1 solo in "The Star-Spangled Banner". I also took private flute lessons for 6 years.

What is your favorite band shirt?
I really love the ones I actually bought at concerts :D

What musician would you like to hang out with for a day?
Warren Zevon, without a doubt. If he were still alive, that is. But he was such an amazing talent, and a really interesting person and I think we would have gotten along well.

Who is one musician or group(s) you wish would make a comeback?
Vendetta Red! They never should have broken up! :(

How many music related videos/DVDs do you own?
far too many to count. At least 7 of just Bon Jovi!

Name 4 or MORE flawless albums
    These Days
    Late For The Sky
    Mr. Bad Example
    The Futurist
    Bat Out of Hell
    Two Houses

Name 6 of your favorite songs of all time
    The French Inhaler
    The Other Side Of Life
    Come Sail Away
Objects in the Rearview Mirror May Appear Closer Than They Are
    In the Air Tonight
    Every Sperm Is Sacred

What is your favorite movie soundtrack?
it's a tie between The Wedding Singer and Queen Of The Damned.

What was your last musical phase before you wisened up?
I don't really go through "phases", I've always liked the same types of music.

What's your guilty pleasure that you hate to admit to liking?
David Hasselhoff, Cher, and vintage Madonna!
  • Counting Tracks In Real Time?

    5 Jun 2008, 15:18 by Aman

I just had a bit of an idea for a way to improve the statistical tracking of Last.FM.

A lot of people post specific track count milestones in their profiles. In other words, people will often post what song they played as their 10,000th track, or 50,000th track, or so on. I myself have recently started to do this as well. However, I have no knowledge of any easy way to obtain this information. It always involves finding out EXACTLY how much tracks have been played on your profile, and then scanning back in your "recently played" list until you finally hit the specific track you're looking for.

Would it not be easier if, in the "recently played" list, we had the ability to know EXACTLY which track was that magical number? I think it may be a good idea for the Last.FM team to implement, at the very least, a milestone system that divides the "recently played" list by every 50, 100, 500, 1000, etc., tracks played. Even better would be a system that shows EACH TRACK'S UNIQUE "TRACKS PLAYED" NUMBER.

If enough people respond positively to this idea, I may approach the Last.FM development team myself with the idea. Please share your thoughts, concerns, and comments here so that I (and, potentially, the Last.FM team) have a clear understanding of everyone's viewpoints on this matter.

    MARCH 8, 2007

    10cc Tour 2007 Newsflash

Graham Gouldman telephoned Dave today to ask him to let you all know that Kevin Godley will be appearing on stage with Graham and the band at the Shepherd’s Bush Empire in London on the 16th March... Kevin will be doing two songs but they’re keeping the titles of the two songs close to their chests at the moment. He also announced that hopefully Kevin will be joining the band on stage at the St David's Hall in Cardiff on the 9th of March as a bit of a warm up because it is such a long time since Kevin was last on stage. Graham said that Kevin will be doing 1 song at Cardiff.

In other news, Lol Creme and Trevor Horn are working together as 'The Producers'.
More details along with video and audio can be found on their myspace website

Step 1: Put your iTunes on shuffle.
Step 2: Post a line from the first 50 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing.
Step 3: BOLD the songs when someone guesses correctly.
Step 4: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!

1.Well i want you to notice
To notice when I'm not around
And i know that your eyes see straight through me
And speak to me without a sound

2.It seems no one can help me now,
Im in too deep; theres no way out
This time I have really led myself astray

16.Shaking like a dog shitting razorblades

You've got me wrapped around your finger

    7 Aug 2007, 08:06 by Aman

My Broken Hearts on Ice group, this time a 9-piece improvisational ensemble, has debuted my latest avant-jazz/modern composition piece, "George Walker Bush: A Topographical Improvisation." The piece is scored for improvisational ensemble, SuperCollider (laptop electronics), and visual electronics. It is scored based upon the compositional theories outlined in my paper regarding Topographical Improvising, which can be found at www.gwohlproductions.com.

An amateur video has been recorded of the performance and is on YouTube. It is on the G-Wohl Productions YouTube page (found at http://www.youtube.com/user/gwohlproductions). The piece was met with both shock and applause.

They all can also be found below:

    The performers are as follows:

Andrew Grathwohl (Me) - Electronics (Audio/SuperCollider), conductor, composer
    Gil Shur - Electronics (Video)

  • My 10,000th Track!

    5 Jul 2007, 06:02 by thefuturist88

It was Everything To Everyone by Everclear!

In honor of my 10,000th track, here's the lyrics and video:

You put yourself in stupid places
Yes I think you know its true
Situations where its easy to look down on you
I think you like to be the victim
I think you like to be in pain
I think you make yourself a victim
    Almost every single day

    You do what you do
    You say what you say
You try to be everything to everyone
You know all the right people
You play all the right games
    You always try to be
    Everything to everyone

    Yeah you do it again
    You always do it again

You say they taught you how to read and write
Yeah, they taught you how to count
I say they taught you how to buy and sell
Your own body by the pound
I think you like to be their simple toy
I think you love to play the clown
I think you are blind to the fact
That the hand you hold is the hand that holds you down

    You do what you do
    You say what you say
You always try to be everything to everyone
You know all the right people
You play all the right games
You always try to be everything to everyone

Spin around and fall down, do it again
    You stumble and you fall
Yeah why dont you ever learn
Spin around and fall down, do it again
Yeah, you stumble and you fall
I wonder if you will ever learn

    Why wont you ever learn

Come on now, do that stupid dance for me

You do what they tell you to do
    You say what you say
You try to be everything to everyone
You jump through the big hoop
You play all the right games
You try to be everything to everyone

Spin around and fall down, do it again
    You stumble and you fall
    Yeah you do it again
Spin around and fall down, do it again
    You stumble and you fall
  • top 10 albums as of now

    19 Jun 2007, 02:32 by leptonlunatic

I'm missing so many of my favorites. Can. VDGG. Led Zeppelin. Dinosaur Jr. The Flaming Lips, Ween. It's criminal. But as of now these are my favorites.

    1. The Piper at the Gates of Dawn - Pink Floyd

Anyone who wants to know what psychedelia is all about needs to look no further than this album. The opening psychedelic blitz of Astronomy Domine to the absolute mindblower of Interstellar Overdrive to the madness inducing pop genius sound collage of Bike will bring to the heavens and back with your mind in shambles.

    2. Thick as a Brick - Jethro Tull

A forty minute rock epic can not only work fine but come out as one of the greatest pieces of rock music ever. The arrangement and lyrics are pure genius and it flows like any pop song. Prog is great when it works. It's the best ever when it works (and the worst ever when it doesnt). This is proof.

    3. Loveless - My Bloody Valentine

I only actually know a couple songs of this album by name. The whole album is like one blissed out experience. Layers of beautiful tremolo driven guitar noise soothe your soul and bring you to heaven as you float on waves of electronically altered sounds. Melodies stay in your head and are wired into your mind. This album is pure narcotic delight.

    4. Strung Out in Heaven - The Brian Jonestown Massacre

Anton isn't sane because no man with a normal mind could make an album this beautiful, not because he says he's the son of god interviews and beats people up on stage. Jangle away all you want and you'll never meet the sheer beauty and emotional range of this album.

    5. Mellow Gold - Beck

The slacker bible. Loser. Beercan. Fuckin' With My Head. Nightmare Hippy Girl. Pay no Mind. Every song is a gem, a whole new world of absurdity and slacker culture vibes all around. Probably the funnest album to listen to, ever.

    6. Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain - Pavement

Listen to this masterpiece that didn't even take itself seriously but started a musical revolution and spoke to youth who really didn't give a fuck about popular culture and wanted something pure and exciting. Laid back, smelling of hashish, and never failing to excite, Crooked Rain, Crooked Rain is pure love.

    7. Volume 1 and 2 - Soft Machine

Coolest guys ever make the coolest music ever. Acid, genius keyboards, brilliant drumming, poetry and love all combine to blow the minds of all who dare experience the lysergic brilliance of the Soft Machine.

    8. Cyborgs Revisited - Simply Saucer

The Stooges, Can, Pink Floyd, and The Velvet Undergrond all mix in the greatest proto-punk album that influenced no one. This album burnnnns and groooves and trips out all at the same time.

    9. Daydream Nation - Sonic Youth

    Revolution = destroying pop culture

It's just as good as everyone says it. It gets exponentially better with each listen. All that noise, feedback, dissonance, beat poetry, punk rawk, krautrawk, revolution, and sheer genius mixes and makes an album that so good even the government admitted it by putting it in the Library of Congress. Sweet.

Sweet lord...I have a passion. To get high. To make an album about getting high. To play two chords over and over again and make a hypnotic symphony that will blow Mickey Crown's mind and get him high without drugs and put him in space. Consume. Drone. Fly.

I watched the shock on girls sweet faces that expected Amelie-like soft piano and violin, while the music played was a breathtaking composition of different Tiersen's themes sewed together just to form something like , that was with no doubt and mostly :) Let me just mention playing guitar using drill or guitar-loudspeaker coupling :)

Since today, people not tagging Tiersen as are by law punished to death sentence.

Very work, eclectic synthesis of multiple genres played with strong commitment. Poor you all narrow-minded disgusted Amelie-only fans. Too bad you didn't notice the amount of Yann's genius that exploded yesterdays evening ;)
