I'm all for extensive music taste, but nobody likes 'everything'. Maybe you like all the main genres out there, but you might not like elevator music [do you?] and African religious melodies....

"I like pop music, but I liked David Guetta's last single and Nickelback's last song, too." That is what some people call eclectic...

99% of the time it's people who consider their tastes ~eclectic~ because they listen to both Eminem and Taylor Swift. [2]

If i had a nickel for every time someone said "i like everything" and then said "that's not my kind of music" within 5 seconds of listening to any track i send them, I'd be living in a mansion made with solid gold.

Wide and eclectic taste is a great thing to have, but liking "everything" is simply impossible. And I think most of the people who actually do have broad taste are aware of this, whereas the dipshits in Top 40 land are so oblivious to the sheer mass of music in existence that they think they've heard everything because they listen to two songs that don't sound exactly the same.

@ClassyMusicSnob because people just like that. Music varies and you need to accept that not everyone is going to like what you like

Years ago I was thinking my taste would be extensive and that "I'd like everything", but after hearing more and more different kind of music I started to realize how narrow my taste in genres actually was.

I don't understand Pop music. Why would I want to listen to mediocre song-writing, emotionless singing, horrible lyrics and 500+ chorus repeats in one 3 minute song?

Every time I visit a page with someone claiming a wide taste in music, I have to really restrain myself from leaving a bitchy shout on their page. Not to mention the "You say fill-in-a-crappy-band I say fill-in-a-crappier-band" copypasta. There should be a law against that stupid meme.

the most stereotypical people who claim they like "everything" have never even heard of a shit ton of genres. anytime someone says that i can list a hundred genres and they're like umm no ummm no ummmm, nor do they have any interest in starting to listen either. i don't care tho it's just funny.

"i dont understand metal music. why would i want to be yelled at." Why do people watch horror movies then? Why would someone want to feel scared? Answer me that. And work on your grammar if you're trying to sound serious. And don't want to be yelled at? Listen to instrumentals then, dipshit!
