Description:
Stop substituting inferior versions of songs for the studio tracks, you bastards.

I want to hear the version from the album I selected. I do not want to hear the cover version the drummer did with their other band. I do not want to hear the live version from Columbus Ohio in 1993. I do not want the Justice remix version. I do not want the acoustic version, the reggae version or the big-band version. THESE SHOULD BE SEPARATE TRACKS DAMMIT.

Why should we subscribe if we can't stream the tracks we want? I understand if some of them aren't available, but if there's going to be alternate versions instead please label them accordingly. Or fix the tags, seperate out the live tracks properly, get the streaming versions of the studio tracks. Whatever it takes. Make this better.

If this has been bothering you too, please feel free to join this group.

If you have any suggestions for what can be done about this problem, please give us a shout.

Very happy to have found the people that are also upset about this. I know that it is free but I dont understand why it tells me why last.fm does not classify all versions of songs instead of pooling them in to one big cluster. Its not even across the board I dont get it, it feels lazy. And yes I would pay for it if i new that the band that i want to listen to playing the version of the song i want to hear is actually what will happen. As it stands that is not the case. Fail....

http://www.last.fm/music/Jake+Shimabukuro/_/hula+girl This doesn't sound like a uke to me. And the preview is in maybe Japanese but the stream is English and not very funky. Time was about 2sec over 3:38 plus about 5 of silence. ~

Aah,yes! I didn't know there was a group about the different versions of a song. i always mention which version of the song i listen to. Lastfm has a huge problem in telling them apart, they even get the songs wrong ... It always pisses me off! Great group! :)

http://www.ifpi.org/content/section_resources/isrc.html :I've not read much here but is the idea that each track ever created has its own unique number? If that is already in existence I don't understand why labels & artists manage to upload weird tracks to lastfm.

this is not crimson and clover over and over LOL (at least, not when it came up on my radio) starship troopers a remix version, techno-ized...very disappointing to hear instead of the actual awesome song. i'm one by the who - eddie veder/pearl jam live version? (rock honours award show version possibly?) epic fail.

Know I am getting a (beautiful) acoustic cover sounding almost, but not completely, different from Smalltown Boy.

I don't know what kind of wrong version of You Can Call Me Al is playing on my client but it isn't the version from Graceland.

The thing that drives me nuts is that it changes- back and forth. I have a couple of songs I send to new friends and people who are kinda down- like James Brown's "I Feel Good". I know there are several versions, and I placed the one I want in my playlists- so I could make certain not to get the turd. Danged if I ever know what will play that day. Also frustrates me on shouts- I'd like to shout on the ONE THAT I LIKE. Then it will change later and my shout is not relevant- I DON'T like that song... no big deal- it just irks me...

Not a member of the group, but definitely sympathetic. Have any of you come across the Marc Bolan-free "T. Rex" live tracks? Putrid...I hear that most of the Badfinger streaming tracks are spurious as well, though maybe this has been addressed in the last few weeks.

What's also annoying is that I occasionally *like* the alternate track, but because it is not labeled properly, I can't figure out where it really comes from. A live album? A bootleg? Who did this remix? Argh.

http://www.last.fm/music/Pink+Floyd/_/Money Some sort of mix - can't tell if it's Pink Floyd or some other group. Pretty awful.
