    same here,
as i listen at least 70% of my music when i'm on the road and with my loox.

    If there isn't any plugin,
is there an sdk to develop one or at least a paper describing the submission process/protocol ?

any joy guys? I'm looking for the same thing myaelf...

  • I've done a plugin for TCPMP player last week

It is tested on windows mobile 5.0 for smartphones and windows 2003 smartphone edition.
Unfortunately TCPMP has no native plugin support, so i have to rebuild common.dll with minimal changes (just one callback added).
PocketPC 2003 version is available also, but tested only on emulator.
Known bugs - equalizer is not working, don't know why.

Is it possible to download it?
I would be very glad to test it on PPC2003..

  • I have a Qtek 9000.. and OBVIOUSLY i use TCPMP! :)
But the problem is.. How do you send data to last.fm?
I mean: do i need to stay always on line while i listen to music???
I use pocket player to listen to music.. It supports plugin.. Can't you write a plugin for that software??

I use TCPMP on my ppc2003. Is there anywhere to get a download of a plugin, if available?

  • hi, i use gsplayer on pocket pc 2002...any tool for scrobbling by accident? i assume it would add the tracks you played on your pda after the synchronization with pc, you wouldn't have to be connected all the time while listening.

See the stars they're shining bright, everything's all right tonight *
  • Ok, there a sort of quick start guide:
    1) Download archive at http://www.deviant.ru/pocketpc2003.rar for PPC2003/WM5 or http://www.deviant.ru/smartphone2003-2005.rar for 2003SE/WM5 Smartphone Edition
    2) Unpack it to any directory on the mobile device (program files/tcpmp for ex.)
    3) Run player.exe in this directory and go to settings -> page -> audioscrobbler (as the components are unsigned you may have to click ok about ten times, but this happens only on first run)
    4) type login and password there, then check "Submit" checkbox
Thats it, press ok and listen music. Every song you listening will be added to cache when playback is finished. By default the delay between submissions is 300 seconds (5 minutes) but you can adjust it as you wish.
Current status can be viewed in plugin settings page (songs submitted / cached / dropped). If you close player before cache content submitted it will be written to as_cache.txt in tcpmp folder. Additional/debug information can be found in as_log.txt in the same directory.
Please contact me if you have any questions or found a bug.

    Known bugs:
    1) You should check "Submit" every time you start TCPMP
    2) Equalizer is not working, I think this problem is in TCPMP sources itself

  • Man, I hope this works.

  • So, does this thing work?
I keep getting a "Failed (Disconnected) error message.
Any one got this thing figured out yet?

  • Hate to post to myself, but the software works!!!
I had to fire up the wifi, but once it connected to the Internet, this little bugger uploaded the cached info and it appeared in my profile as expected.
Now, what kind of bandwidth are we talking about to get the info uploaded?

    {edit}After shelving this for several months, I have discovered that if i do not use Cingular's proxy server, this plugin uploads with no problem over GPRS. I'll never install that proxy server setting again!!!{/edit}

    pocket player

also try pocker player 3 from conduits. it offers an audioscrobbler plugin which uploads the songs you have listened to to last.fm

    happy scrobbling =)

(actually the plugin is buggy (v1.0) but the bugfix will be released this week)

This is great. I am currently waiting for my new Cingular Black jack phone to arrive, which is Windows Mobile 2005. Cingular now offers unlimited internet data packages and with free nights and weekends, that phone is gonna rock now. :)

I cant wait to try this! Thanks!

  • Anyone wishing to make this work on thier phone need only to download the audio scrobbler (http://www.conduits.com/products/player/plugins/gen_audioscrobbler.zip )plugin from the Conduits plugins page (http://www.conduits.com/products/player/plugins.asp) -
It's a zip file so you'll have to unpack it first.

Add it to the directory where you installed the cab file and Viola!

    Good Luck :)

  • Scrobbling Works Great, ID3v2 Not so Much

It's great that the scrobbling works. Pocket Player had serious bugs in its scrobbling plugin. However, TCPMP inserts garbled characters into my ID3v2 tags when scrobbling them. "The Engine Room䥔㉔ – A Perfect Lie䍔乏" for example was originally "The Engine Room - A Perfect Lie". Any suggestions?

  • I've tried you're download on TCPMP version .66 to .72RC1 and get the same error. "audioscrobbler plugin not compatable with current player version. Please upgrade". I'm using an Ipaq rx3115 with ppc 2003se. I downloaded this file: http://www.deviant.ru/pocketpc2003.rar Any ideas?

Edit - I fixed my problem. I used the pocketpc version of winrar to open it locally on my ppc. That seemed fix whatever weird problem I was having. I figured I should leave this up in case someone else ran across the same problem.
