Description:
For anyone who is convinced that Radiohead and Muse are, in fact different bands.

We don't think Thom and Matt have the same voice and we don't think the music is similar.

We don't want your opinions on which band is better, you just have to listen to Muse and Radiohead and agree they are totally different.

I think that's fair enough, don't you?

Oh and we also know that Muse didn't cover Creep.

Have fun and please keep it friendly. Or Thom might eat you...

haha why can't we all just get along? ...coming from a starting out muse fan who has become a convert to both sides, i can see the roots coming from rh. however, i really sense a different sound. radiohead relies more on guitar, bass on a lot of albums. muse is more synth. i do feel like they both have their "futuristic" and "dystopian" phases. (ie: muse=the resistance/black holes & revelations; radiohead= kid a/ amnesiac) ...and i appreciate their styles equally. lately i have been trying to listen as much as i can to both off and on to find these similarities people speak of, but as a true fan i feel like i should just appreciate both.

Imo Coldplay try to sound like Radiohead. Once they had found this 'sound' they then replicated it into 4 hugely popular albums. They problem was, they only ever found one of Radiohead's many sounds and now all their stuff just sounds like one song rewritten over and over again.

Oh, and while we're at it: Coldplay DOES NOT sound like Radiohead. Radiohead are gods. Coldplay are... I'm not saying the word, it might sound too rude.

First, I'd like to set one thing straight, and this should offend no other band: Radiohead has created a couple of the most amazing albums ever known. That said, why should it be of any offense if another band draws from that influence and generates some very excellent music of their own? Muse has some very very good stuff, and I am very impressed. I'm old enough to remember 'Creep' as a one-hitter, then being STUNNED by and falling in love with The Bends. Then, Holy Sh!t, OK Computer. Yes, Muse do creep a little too much into Radiohead theatrics sometimes (though like Guy Stephenson said below, they both owe a debt to Jeff Buckley). But damn am I glad they are there to carry the torch. Some AMAZING stuff, and it sounds like they are just getting better.

I love both bands, but I can't tell why they're always being compared to eachother. It's very annoying when people do that. It does no justice to their music!

I may not have listened to a huge amount of radiohead but i've heard enough to know that they and muse sound different. They may have small similarities but almost all bands share similarities with other bands, it's called their influences. P.S. Muse are better :)

The only similarity is the falsetto. But Thom's is more of a pretty falsetto, while Matt's is like a pretty falsetto on mushrooms.

omg, great group :dd i'm in sympathy with majority, muse and radiohead are completely different, and i haven't an idea why people like to compare them x_x but also i think that early muse is sounds like radiohead's creep - both are sad and meaning "teenage angst" :p ok-ok, i jest! xd

When Muse's first album came out, Showbiz MIGHT'VE sounded a little like The Bends, but by the time they broke out with Absolution on 2003, Radiohead didn't even sound like Radiohead anymore. Both are amazing bands with their own unique sound - Muse is equal parts spacey and hard rock, and Radiohead...well, you just have to hear them for yourself to define them.

both Matthew Bellamy and Thom Yorke sing Falsetto Radiohead are use more Acoustic instruments and are more Electronic than Muse Muse are harder and have faster tempo Imagine a harder Paranoid Android with calmer singing it will be so muse like but some songs when am not fully sober i won't find a difference between Muse and Radiohead like Hoodoo and Exit Song for example Muse is my favourite band but it is similar to Radiohead and even matty consider Radiohead the main influence for his music don't he ?
