Members submit videos from the best video hosts from around the Net to be voted on by other Sifters with only the best being "sifted" up to the front page. VideoSift was started in February 2006. Videosift.com is a community of dedicated on line video enthusiasts who "sift" through the major video sharing websites and present the best videos they find to the Videosift community. The members then vote and comment on the posted videos in a style similar to Digg or Reddit and the system "sifts" the top-rated videos to the front page.
Users can vote on both videos and posted comments. As a user gains more positive votes, they move through levels which allow them greater privileges such as creating their own channels and increased voting abilities. Members may also pay a fee to become "charter members" and are rewarded with more privileges.

Enough with the introductions. I created this group because it was about time someone did. The Sift boasts arguably the friendliest and wittiest community on the internet, and where there's nice folks, there's also nice music. There's so much to learn about people you thought you knew - I mean, wouldn't everyone like to finally find out how much 50cent dag really listens to? And what's Siftbot's taste in aural pleasures?
