The Last.fm group for vegans and vegetarians

Welcome to the Last.fm group for vegans and vegetarians. Vegans don't consume any animal products. Vegetarians don't consume any meat, fish or poultry. Some are dietary vegans; others consume dairy products (lacto vegetarians); some eat eggs (ovo; with the former, ovo-lacto); and there are other personal variants. Vegans and vegetarians choose not to consume animals products for various reasons: ethical (animal rights), religious, cultural, traditional, health, environmental, etc. So, do veggies make better music? that sucks. every place i go has AWESOME veg/vegan options. there's this great pizza place where you can get a meat loaded pizza or a completely vegan one, it's great for crowds :)

Thai food restaurants can be tricky. I was once asked "How" vegetarian I wanted the dish. Like there was some sort of grading...Either it is vegetarian or it's not!

Went to buy some food at an obscure restaurant. There was "veggie and cheese" for one option and the "veggie box" had eggs -_- at least they offered falafel instead of meat

yeah-julian: I feel the same way. I hear so many people labeling themselves "vegetarian" when they stopped eating meat a mere week ago, and it ends up lasting only a few days. Even worse, people will tell me that they are also vegetarian, yet they eat chicken (as if this didn't count as an animal). Instead of saying "I'm a vegetarian," I just say I don't eat meat.

is anyone else starting to get annoyed with the term "vegetarian" itself? it's really starting to lose its meaning and sound more whiney and trendy. i don't consume animal products, but the title alone is kind of slowly getting to me.

I'm not entirely sure if asmoron is making it up or not because he's kind of a giant troll. If it is true, I kind of feel bad for her because eventually she's going to realize that she has no idea what she was talking about, and it'll be really awkward for whoever explains it to her. And while we're on the topic of misconceptions, I think it's rather unfortunate that sickfuck is under the impression he listens to better music than the rest of us. It's almost as embarrassing as the presumably fictional situation where the girl eating ham said she was a "vegetarian".

the word vegan didn't exist until the 20th century when a select few true vegetarians were frustrated that the term had lost it's meaning. it is getting rather ridiculous these days. on another note, vegs* have poor music taste.
