    You should try soulseek.

Yeah I looked all around, mostly broken links. I might just hold out for the singles/ep comp Rudy was talking about (assuming it ever comes to fruition).

There might be something in this forum's sharity thread or on The Blackened Air. They do turn up on vinyl, from time to time. I posted the Peel Session on my blog.

Anyone know some links for some of those Butterfly Child EP's? I found a post at some site which had most or all of them, but of course they were megaupload links so they've been terminated.

  • connect_icut

Yes indeed. In fact there's a forum thread for that: http://www.last.fm/group/UK+Post-Rock/forum/118725/_/601694

Anyone got an update on the Disco Inferno 5 EPs vinyl?

Sound of Satellites is easily the best Laika album. Good Looking Blues is too trip-hop if you ask me.

I'm definitely gonna get the Papa Sprain reissues.

He seems pretty intent on it. He brings it up every so often on the Facebook page. Related, an A.R. Kane singles comp is coming out very soon as well, for those of you that care. Possibly in May, he says.

Rudy from A.R. Kane is still talking about reissuing the Papa Sprain material: http://arkane.fanbridge.com/fan_questions/q/782246

"Isn't Sound of the Satellites supposed to be really bad?" No, absolutely not. Admittedly it's not as great as Silver Apples Of The Moon but it is pretty essential and probably superior to Good Looking Blues (which isn't bad either).

    wow, Snowpony is great!

Dub Sex go to my wishlist, thanks man. "Sounds of the Satellites" (after first listen) is really nice, maybe i return to "Silver Apples of the Moon" later.

  • connect_icut

Dub Sex remind me of Moonshake too but without the electronic element.

Isn't Sound of the Satellites supposed to be really bad? Good Looking Blues is alright, though.

i know "Silver Apples of the Moon" and it is good, but there is sth weird in this album. Well, i'm going to check "Sounds of the Satellites". I really like Scorn. Snowpony looks interesting, thanks

  • connect_icut

Is it too obvious to say Laika? Is Scorn stretching it? How about Snowpony?

hey, great group! i'm looking for artists similar to Moonshake.

The Butterfly Child single has my interest piqued as well.

I've been following the MBV developments very closely in recent months. It seems they have been getting something done recording-wise and promos do seem to have gone out for the new May 7 release date for the remasters (including the eight-year-delayed EPs compilation). But let's be honest: Kevin will almost certainly pull the plug on anything that gets too close too actually happening. He's been doing it for 20 years, why stop now? --- Interested in the Butterfly Child single but I'm sure it won't be available in North America.

I'm assuming everyone's already wept for joy over this article: http://www.nme.com/news/my-bloody-valentine/63110 Also, I'm reliably informed that Butterfly Child will be releasing a 7" on Dell'Orso for Record Store Day this year. Google could tell me nothing but I'm working on getting more info. Like, will it be available in the US?! Probably not... Dell'Orso is Guy Sirman (formerly of Dishy/Delta)'s label.

Not that bizarre, just some footage from Audiosurf. I must say though, that looks like it'd be rather hard to play.

Metrotone's first record just came in the mail today, and it's quite good. Glad I was able to hunt it down for a reasonable price.

With regards to Pram, it’s true you don’t see their albums on vinyl very often, particularly The Stars Are So Big…… (which goes for quite a lot of money on ebay and Discogs). I’d still recommend getting hold of their albums though, not one of them is a bad record and they’re one band who I regularly keep going back to and can listen to no matter what mood I’m in (and fortunately I bought all their records on vinyl at the time).

That was the album that got me into Pram. Not my favourite, but I'll always have a special place for it.

Embarrassed to admit I've never actually heard that album, though I've liked all the Pram stuff I have heard. Must seek it out. You don't see their vinyl around much though, do you?

If it was going to be Loveless, he should have published it today (#lovelessday). He's such an iconoclast, I think he'll go for something willfully non-canonical, like The Anatomy of Addiction by God.

  • Gman1969

That's good to know (seeing as you seem to ultimately feel the same way about the music). I suppose I can understand his dislike of the term post-rock if he relates it to the 3rd rate Mogwai/GSYBE rip-off shite that has since claimed the genre name as its own. I'm certainly looking forward to the next instalment in the series anyway. "The Greatest Album Of The 90s." Somehow I think Loveless is too obvious a choice so I'm curious to know what it'll be (Laughing Stock, maybe? Who knows).

  • connect_icut

I take that back. Neil has specifically stated that he was not referring to me.

I do find it hard not to read that preamble as a personal attack but that's probably a bit paranoid. Still, it's funny that I got into trouble for being "aggressive" or whatever in the comments box but it's okay for him to basically call me retard. Ah well, it's a particular type of very British firebrand music writing. No point in getting upset about it. Haven't had a chance to read the interview yet but I bet it's great. I basically agree with everything he says, other than the fact that he hates the term "post-rock".

  • Gman1969

Neil Kulkarni’s article on Insides has been posted on the Quietus: http://thequietus.com/articles/07267-the-euphoria-of-insides He makes a big deal about how he hates the term ‘post-rock’ at the start (probably in response to Sam's comment on their site about the Main piece a few weeks ago).
