Yeah, it's good but not stunning. Very droney and Stephan Mathieu really makes his presence felt. I guess I was hoping for something with a bit more of a rhythmic undertow, like the early Main stuff. Mego also put out the new Locust at the same time but I haven't had a chance to hear that one yet.

Looks like that new Main is out. Anybody given it a listen yet?

I just don't believe that nobody will release this but that's what he claims. Apart from MBV, this is the best music happening right now. It deserves a "proper" release, whatever that means these days. Even if it's only digital, it should be *promoted*, y'know?

Truth. Damn shame when Ian fucking Crause can't put a record out these days.

Oh shit, you're right! This is exactly what happened last time. Someone needs to teach Ian how to use Bandcamp properly. Actually, someone needs to just put this stuff out on vinyl and promote it properly.

Four new songs, in fact. Look at the sidebar.

Today's other news is that there's a Main album out in couple of months. Available to pre order: http://editionsmego.com/release/eMEGO+160

Unfortunately I may not get to finish listening to it whole, but it sounds great so far. Weird sense of clarity to it. All the more rewarding after the transaction errors and my anti-virus being a dick and installing updates made me envision throwing the laptop out of the window. Sounds more like Dinosaur Jr. than I was expecting, actually.

I do really like the first three but I know what you mean. They could've easily been on Loveless. Things definitely develop and get more amazing as it goes on. On first listen 'nothing is' and 'wonder 2' really stood out.

Got it. Don't love the first three songs (plodding, overlong) but the rest is mind-blowing.

So he wasn't just teasing us with '2-3 days!' http://www.mybloodyvalentine.org/Catalogue.aspx

I saw MBV at the Brixton warm up show last night and they started the set with the new song (it didn't sound that far removed from Loveless). Kevin also said that the new album would be out in the next 2-3 DAYS! He may have been joking but the singer from Le Volume Courbe (who were supporting) had already anounced the same thing in their set so I presume he was serious (apparenty they are just waiting for the artwork). Obviously 2-3 days to Kevin could mean several years to anyone else.

the new Mountains album is damn fine. Everyone who enjoyed Chorus but was put off by the follow up NEEDS to listen. It's a much better and more natural progression from that one, and just better I think.

Oh shit yeah, I actually *didn't* notice that! I thought it was weird that he'd only released part two of a three-part epic. Downloading now.

Make sure to look at the sidebar on the right of his bandcamp page and notice that it's actually three songs. I didn't realise that at first.

Kevin's claims do generally seem to be being taken a lot more seriously this time around so we can but hope. In some ways I never really wanted him to release any new MBV stuff in case it disappoints but there is the chance it could be absolutely incredible.

Slint already reformed a few years ago, didn't they? --- As for the MBV thing, I genuinely believe that we're at the point that we *will* hear some new material within the next two or three years. I don't believe that the album will come out this year or that it will necessarily ever come out officially but I do think that at least a few songs will leak before 2015. Which, in MBV terms, is pretty exciting. Especially if one of the songs is a finished version of the "Kevin Song" demo.
