Peter Broderick in the UK

  • Peter Broderick in the UK

Hi. Newbie here. I noticed Peter Broderick is providing support for Wildbirds and Peacedrums during their little sojourn to the UK this month. His 'Float' album is my surprise 'Album of the Year' - forget Elbow ;0).
Already have my tickets for the show at Industry, but wanted to let as many people as possible know about the dates:

Dublin, Ireland at Crawdaddy's with Wildbirds & Peacedrums SEP 10

Leeds, UK at Brudenell Social Club with Wildbirds & Peacedrums SEP 11

Nottingham, UK at The Rescue Rooms with Wildbirds & Peacedrums SEP 12

Bristol, UK at Cube Cinema with Wildbirds & Peacedrums, Silver Pyre SEP 13

London, UK at Industry with Wildbirds & Peacedrums SEP 15

Brighton, UK at Prince Albert with Wildbirds & Peacedrums SEP 16

Some websites have the Sep 15th gig at the Hoxton Bar and Kitchen, this is NOT correct. It was pencilled in for there but is now at Industry.

From what I'm guessing, Peter will be airing material from his soon to be released (on Type???) 'Home' album - a more guitar based folky-vocal album.

    Excited is an understatement....

Hope this gets to you in time to book tickets!

    All the best, Jason

  • Amazing...

Absolutely amazing gig. And we met him afterwards and he gave us a promo of the new Home CD! Yes I am a geek.

Get thee to Brighton and catch him before he leaves these shores...

  • Mr Xela, you beat me to it, and rightly so being the man in the know ;0)

Posted the full extract of Peter's MySpace blog entry below for info:

    "Hello friends!

Firstly I wanted to tell you all that I'll be playing a very special concert at UNION CHAPEL on November 2nd. I'll be sharing the evening with two of my favorite musicians -- SYLVAIN CHAUVEAU and GREG HAINES. I've not yet been to the venue, but I've heard from many people that it's an absolutely amazing place to see a concert. Tickets have now gone on sale, and you can find them RIGHT HERE.

Another piece of great news -- Originally my album Home was only planned for CD and digital release, but now the wonderful TYPE RECORDS will be releasing a limited edition vinyl as well! This will be popping up in the next few weeks, so keep an eye out :-)

I'll also be releasing a little 7 inch record in the next few weeks. On one side is an alternate version of the main theme from Home (actually, the exact version that you can see/hear inTHIS LINK ), and on the other side is me covering the song "Roscoe" by Midlake. It's a funny story with this one... A while back I was asked to make a remix for Midlake, to be possibly including on their EP, and so I did. I made a remix of Roscoe, and basically I made an entirely new song underneath and only kept the original vocals. And well, for a variety of reasons the remix never got used for anything, so then Simon at Bella Union suggested that I just record my own vocal for the song and make it a cover, and so I did, and now it will be on this 7 inch!

    Take care and more soon!
    Peter"

    Cheers, Jason

  • OK, I'm ready for one Peter Broderick album a month. Keep them coming :)

  • this gig was very good btw. review and pics etc here and i managed to pick up the bella union 7" early, with a little autograph from Mr Broderick :0) shame there was no Home LP stock though, nevermind, ordered from Boomkat now anyway!
