  And so what if they do? The capitalist world is based on a foundaion of greedy lies and deceit, and the powerful will fight to maintain this state of affairs. I am assuming you joined this group because you wanted to discuss conspiracy theories? I cant see any other reason for its existence, since it is unlikely to overturn the governments. And you cant really split lying into "good lying" and "bad lying" when your group mainifesto clearly defines that honestly is always the best policy. You call for less lies, and then defend lies? So what your saying is, if its done for a good cause its a good lie? Maybe, but the American government deposed a genocidal dictator and their motives were entirely immoral. They lied to everyone, but there are people in Iraq or Kuwait who would love to shake Bush by the hand because his administration toppled the dictator who had their families murdered. Its not always that clear cut, people. Stop being naive.

  why lie ? if for instance lying will save your children to be killed, you have a good reason to lie, haven't you. the fact is that people don't lie for a "higher good" but in order so save their little asses or fool other people.

  my 4-year old daughter lies often to her mother. she is not weak but she is a little girl who didn't yet grow up. my conclusion is that it is not a sign of maturity to lie. nevertheless, sometimes you have to be strong in order to lie. for me, depending of the situation, it might take a lot of courage to not tell the truth. transparency is not about lies or truth per se. it's about the possibility for the general public to be informed about the facts, optimally "before the facts", because information "after the facts" often doesn't help that much.
