The release of the new album has brought back some mighty sweet memories, we reign from the same area so I have had the pleasure of seeing him perform many times in large and small venues alike. I LOVE living in the Philadelphia area, so much music to enjoy :)

Arena is great and it's a crime that it was overlooked by pretty much everyone

just listened to arena, not todd album in many a year.i agree very different, some of it almost heavy-metalish but todd's always done different "gun" and "afraid" alot .look forward to the oct.15th show in asheville.i heard the long version of "baby let's swing" on todd's website.the runt album has a different release(only 5 thousand) i hear with the long versions on it.probably hard to find. arena worth the 13 bucks!

Great review, and I have to agree. In some ways, a very different Todd here, but still recognizable with his classic sound and harmonies coming through on many tracks. My personal favorites include, "Courage", "Weakness", and "Afraid" so far...but give me time - I'll probably end up loving the whole thing, as I do with most all of his releases. :) Todd was definitely having some fun with this one, and in spite of myself, I have to agree. This CD brings back memories of those many concerts I attended in high school, back in my hard-core rocker days, and it IS fun!

The Proverbial Album To Take To A Desert Island, March 27, 2004 Reviewer: Evan Bedford from Blackfalds, AB Canada From: For more than 20 years, this album is easily my prime candidate in the hypothetical which single album would you take to a remote desert island question.
