  • 378 Members and counting. Say hello!

Welcome to the Thoughtful About Music in West Yorkshire forum. I hope that there is enough thoughtful stuff to chat about, pontificate over, post information on or express annoyance at. And maybe there will be enough people posting messages to make an occasional visit worthwhile.

I hope that clear writing and respect for individual differences will be honoured. I hope that ideas and beliefs can be expressed without anyone feeling the need to disrespect the individual who posted them.

Sam, nice to 'speak' to you again. Hopefully this will develop into a useful utility, as well as another thoughtful community. Let the debates commence.

'This et al - My ally the infant' playing as I type this. West Yorkshire through and through.

  • You're all so lucky - you get to listen to music while I'm stuck at work with no sound card.

Hopefully it will be a cracking experience at the evening/weekends.

Can you download the sound/radio gubbins at a later point?

  • Hello, yes I have discovered i am already a member. Yes. Let the discussions begin.

  • Nice to see you all along ... don't be shy about telling other people that it's here - I don't really want to go bumping the message on LMS too much because the number of people who enjoy "challenging" posts seems to be a bit unbalanced on there just now. I don't really this this as a "chat room" for general social comfort ... but if that's how it goes, and it is comfortable, well fair enough. I see that I do have a button to "kick" or "ban" people. No double key option or anything ... so I'd better be restrained, eh?

I see there is a "group radio" if you have that option. It's playing Pocket Knife at the moment - if you click that link does it make it play for you too? Bloody amazing stuff.

  • I followed the link and found that I too was already a member. Was this around a few months ago in some form? I vaguely remember trying to get it up and running and failing miserably!

Maybe I'll have better luck this time.

    Anyway, tracks playing as I'm painstakingly two-fingered typing this were;

    1) California Games, Mickey Charbagz
    2) Nightcap, Rob Nichols
    3) Not pretty enough, Kasey Chambers

That gives away my typing speed!

Yes, to dance beneath the diamond skies with one hand waving free, silhouetted by the sea, circled by the circus sands, with all memory and fate driven deep beneath the waves - let me forget about today until tomorrow.

    Hi,

I like the idea of the radio thing. Will have to get another PC set up down here in the warehouse where I work that isn't attached to the main firewall (I do this sometimes on a temporary basis to listen to myspace pages etc). It will be better than listening to Radio 1!

  • And welcome to pennybroadhurst - latest member. Some good looking tracks in the listings ...

    Hi all.......still daz xi...s'original innit?

  • Big hello to dazxi - actor, writer, singer etc etc ... (wot no bafta for XI's Montauk video?) and sorry to to the recent joiners who didn't get a proper introduction: simonproffitt; Tapiocahead; thann; VibGyor; bassrat; fancydick; Cromulent; jacoustic; Kikaboka. Welcome all - we're about 37 now.

The best bet is to have a trip to their personal pages (click and go!) and see what a rich set of music will now be filling up the group radio. If you use that radio, have you moticed you can click the heart at the bottom of the player every time you hear something you really like - and it will appear in your own loved tracks personal radio. How good is last.fm? The ultimate request show.

Wouldn't call myself an actor Sam...used to be but I got out of it cos I can't stand actors! Writer? Maybe Singer? Yeah, i'll give you that one!

  • Another most welcome member: john_brainlove ... some fine tracks on the homepage. Our group charts gets more diverse by the day. Hi John. Napoleon IIIrd is a good choic for a Thursday afternoon.

  • Hello Hello.

Finally got round to finding this place. Hopefully I'll be around these parts a lot more now for some interesting discussion and what not.

Anonimity never was my thing so JOnieSaunders it is. Eccles takes a back seat.

  • Hi Jonie.

And a big welcome too to iced_scream and ampster - making the group radio lovelier by the minute.

  • Hello and welcome to asteroid_b612!

I'm guessing that asteriod_b612 wasa a typo from outer space and I haven't signed them up. The playlist looked a bit empty. Like space I suppose.

  • I'm guessing asteroid is LMS's Whizzy Stroid, a Bristol dweller active in the Choke DIY scene and now at uni in Leeds promoting one or two things.

Certainly thoughful about his music, good stuff.

  • I think I nearly saw him the other week at the Packhorse - Steve they said he was called - hi Steve! I went looking to say hello but he wasn't in the room at the time.

Hello Jonie. Did you notice the Scaramanga Six were on the look out for a piano player?

  • Talk of The Six and hola!

Welcome to Steve Wrath ... space cadet #46

    The Scaramanga Six

Kneel before Zog (As they have been heard to cry ... )

And very welcome you both are.

Please feel free to post items into the Forum ... no heads have been bitten off so far!

  • Evening all!

    Thanks Sam!

Glad to be here, and looking forward to hearing some interesting music.

  • And a big welcome to MrDykes and PElam!

We are now 50 - a big cheesy round number with cosmic insignificance. Hooray for us!
