to study, huh? so I'd go for:
    Franz Liszt
    Frédéric Chopin
    Sergei Rachmaninoff
    Franz Schubert
    Robert Schumann
    (in random order :))

  • For me it has to be something neutral, not too catchy and without some striking lyrics, or simply without them xD So I mostly go for chillout, electronic, new age and classical music, because it doesn't draw attention but relaxes and calms.
Artists: Mozart, Vivaldi, Schumann; Royksopp, Bjork (but not all, she can be very distracting xD), Enigma, Era, Enya, everything from Cafe del Mar. And generally my advice is not to study with some music you adore and are a hardcore fan cause, that's what distracts me, especially if it's pop and rock ( which are usually my favourite genres). Rather choose something soft, neutral, relaxing that you actually haven't been listening much before or at all.

  • at the moment "Bohren & der Club of Gore"
doom jazz, very minimalistic. love it :D

    1. Sia
    2. Bjork - the lyrics just helps a lot.... while the music keeps my creativity pouring in
    3. Emilie Simon
    4. Feist - very nice as study music, but too depressing
    5. Carla Bruni

  • You guys are crazy.
Anything with lyrics I cant tolerate.
So I mostly study with Mogwai, Explosions in the sky, Brian Eno, Aphex Twin and Boards of Canada
Which is what I should be doing now.

Depends on what I'm studying really, but usually I get the best results with something with a slow tempo and (preferably) no lyrics. So atmospheric instrumental music is the way to go.

heavy music or jazz are good choices :D

  • if I have a lot of time: any music ..just what I want :)
if I have little time: instrumental ..post rock ..nu-jazz... downtempo
    if I don't have a time: sometimes I don't care what I'm listening :P

  • I mainly listen to Arcade Fire
They're catchy enough to make study interesting, but not too catchy so
    I don't get distracted,
    Radiohead are my second choice
