What is your favorite Rush album?

I have no favorites, I really don't consider the albums comparable; too different and too much variety to compare. I normally just 'randomise' when listening to Rush.

But looking at my play count, I see grace under pressure and actually snakes and arrowsseem to have the edge.

Go on, shoot me for being very fond of the latest album so much... BUT - i will say this. The S&A was some of the strongest material they played live this tour - it was electric.

IMO Permanent Waves and Moving Pictures are the best, but can't decide which of the two...

Signals is by far my favorite on a personal level even though it isn't recorded very well. 2112 is awesome as is Fly By Night and Moving Pictures and Power Windows. Snakes and Arrows is their best in a long time. I still think that Permanent Waves is the best album to initiate a non-Rush listener to hear themm for the first time. Just me...

fave album

first album I heard by them was grace under pressure but my musical tastes were post punk at the time. My best album of theirs is 'Power Windows', but I was tempted to say live in rio, but thats a live album so that dont count.

Signals, Power Windows, Farewell to Kings... every Rush album has something great in it but at the moment i'd have say my favourite is Hemispheres.

Let's face it... if we're gonna listen to the greatest band in history and the greatest kind of music in history (just above Speed/Thrash Metal), why not jam out to the 10-20 minute epic songs? They're the greatest and I can't enough of them! I just wish they'd play Hemispheres live some time!

It's hard to choose because they're all great. But I think I like Power Windows slightly more than the others. And I also think a live performance of Hemispheres would be awesome!

gotta b 2112...whenever i listen to it i always sit with the lyrics and read along with the story...it truly transports me ... if you have never done this do it with headphones

Right now its 2112 but there are still plenty I haven't heard so my favourite will probably change in the future

Man this is difficuilt, it would be a toss between 2112, Moving Pictures or Hemispheres.
