which song made a Chair-fan out of you?

Since it is starting to get a bit quiet on the forum (is everyone away on holiday or what?), I thought it was time for a new thread.

I was curious to know which song it was that convinced you that Silverchair is a great band.

For me it was Freak. I had never heard of silverchair before. The song grabbed me the very first time I listened to it and has never let me go.

It's not a matter of luck, it's just a matter of time

I agree, freak got me into them. But it was after seeing anthem which got me into thinking of buying more albums.

Oh.. In don't know.. any of them :P No But .. Shade I think :)

  • it was either "freak" or "tomorrow". i was like 10 at the time, so i really don't remember.

    hell is other people.
  • For me it was Freak too, when the song became the #1 at the Top20 on MTV here in Brazil. At that time I was beginning to really apreciate music and 'til today I feel that Silverchair was a really nice start ;]

Well, that's a hard question to answer - i would have to chose the whole Diorama album, it's such a unitary and (of course) colourfull - blew me out of my mind when i first listened to it - so mature and cleverly constructed.

But the very first song i liked from Silverchair is "Abuse me"

One of my best friends is a huge silverchair fan and she introduced 'em to me and the song that I first heard, the song that got me sayin', "Hmm, I should REALLY check 'em out" was "Pure Massacre".

the 1st track of the 1st album: Israel's son definitely got me hooked

  • I hear Tomorrow on triple j and liked it but what really got me into Silverchair was that show that they played at The Furnace in Newcastle. It was broadcast on ABC and it kicked arse, so I bought Frogstomp.... on cassette!

  • Tomorrow was definitely the song that got me hooked ....... and from then on every song has been totally kick ass!

freak. my fragile 7 year old mind wasn't ready for the awesomeness at the time

  • It had to be Ana's Song & Anthem For The Year 2000 for me=D

  • Israel's Son & Undecided were what got me into 'em. I traded my Smashing Pumpkins CD to my friend for her Frogstomp back when it came out. lol

Well, I only just recently really got into them. I heard Miss You Love in the movie Looking for Alibrandi and loved it. I looked up the band and was surprised that they were the same grunge rock band that my brother's listened to when I was little! So I bought their Best of album and fell in love. :)

  • TOMORROW by the innocent criminals got me into them. GO JJJ! Michael Tunn and his Night life segment!

come join the insane llama parade...
  • Freak was te first. But later to listen Faultline, on a tape (it´s too old!) I knew that Silverchair was this great band.
