For fans of The Great Escape? What's that? Well read on!
And we’re back! But where have we been? Truth be told, we’ve been squished in our Tardis, traversing the space time continuum in search of a bunch of iconic acts to camp out and celebrate THE GREAT ESCAPE in style.
We’ve leapt forward a few months, landing at Newington Armory on 4-5 October (Labour Day long weekend). The bands first crop of bands have been announced and tickets for THE GREAT ESCAPE 2008 - which include FREE ON-SITE CAMPING - go on sale 9AM JULY 9TH.
If you didn’t know already, The “Home Sweet Home” for our GREAT ESCAPE festival / sleepover, is Sydney’s best kept secret - the surreal playground and heritage listed Newington Armory. Built in 1897 and a former World War II naval armament, its gates serve as a closet leading into our very own Narnia. With 52 hectares of riverside, undulating hills, woodlands and ye olde buildings… there’s much to explore in the way of nooks and crannies - so get thy tents ready and rally thy posse for one dandy stroll!
In addition to this already magic set up, when you’ve plonked yourself before the main stage and are set to soak up the musique, the natural amphitheatre promises only the most perfect view and crisp sounds. Glorious!
And what sounds will we be treating you to this year?
