Alrighty, so I started this group a while ago as a joke, sort of. Oh, hey, the Giant Midgets, whoopie. I pretty much condensed all the music I was listening to at the time and tossed it into one big bowl.
Other people thought the bowl was pretty tasty, so they started dipping into it. Why? I know not. At any rate, a miniature mob has formed at nearly 75 weirdos.
I'm going to start recommending artists that I think sound great and that the fellow Giant Midgets would appreciate. I should hope others amongst you would pry out gems from their collections that others of our cabal would appreciate.
I tossed four of them up:
Strapping Young Lad - a group I just got into, but fell madly in love with. Their sound is loud, agressive and oftentimes humorous. What more could one ask for?
Murder By Death - They're strangely delicious, like a whiskey-flavored gelato.
Lard - Jello Biafra and Ministry? How are people not shitting their pants over this?
The Protomen - The unsung protectors of humanity. No mortal would create a rock opera about Rock Man - they, friends, are gods.
You didn't become a gargantuan dwarf for no reason, did you?
Freezepop. They are a synthpop band based out of Boston. Their songs are very entertaining, and they sound like they were written on a Gameboy. (Incidentally, they use a piece of electronics called the QY-70 to perform a lot of their songs, and it looks an awful lot like a Gameboy....) Singing about falling in love with a robot, stealing bikes, and stalking Tracy Gold? Utilising a Speak-n-Spell in one of their songs? How can you lose?
Freezepop sounds like they're kickass! What child growing up watching Growing Pains wouldn't want to stalk Tracy Gold? Personally, I'd be stalking Boner. Do it for the kids!
Edit: Holy crap, I think I saw these guys on Attack of the Show! once with their Gameboy-looking sound-maker-thingy.
I command you to heed!
