If the Four is indeed as..."Fab" as Mister Ko christened them, then I suppose they should have an official last.fm group to clinch the matter. ;-)

Props to Sam for quoting what Sarah said! And Remy is right - Brothers on a Hotel Bed is amazing. As are all of the songs y'all have quoted. :-) Other awesome lyrics; "you'd like to think that you're invincible, yeah, well weren't we all once before we felt loss for the first time?" (Dashboard Confessional, the Brilliant Dance), "And I pray that You will use my life, in whatever way Your name is glorified, even if surrendering, means leaving it all behind." (Mercy Me, I Would Die For You) :-)

Wow...Michael, that sounds like an amazing song :) Sam, those are also incredibly well-written lyrics, even though I don't know the particular songs so well. However, I definitely have to agree with Dare You To Move...I have often thought how profound that phrase is. I've been listening to a bit of Casting Crowns lately, and always find their lyrics honest and thought-provoking. Also, with actual worship songs in particular, I love ones that focus not so much on who I am or what I can/want to do, but on the One who gives life and has given His all, and who is to be worshipped... :)

I also really like the simple, but profound truth of Relient K's "Be My Escape", especially when he sings "The beauty of grace is that it makes life not fair" and "I can't ask you to give, what you already gave". I think that Relient K is one of the more insightful Christian bands out there who aren't actually singing quote-unquote "Worship" music. And, of course, Switchfoot. There are many great songs, but howabout the line from Dare you to Move: "maybe forgiveness is right where you fell..." So true...

"And it came to me then that every plan is a tiny prayer to father time As I stared at my shoes in the ICU that reeked of piss and 409 And I rationed my breaths as I said to myself that I'd already taken too much today As each descending peak on the LCD took you a little farther away from me Away from me Amongst the vending machines and year-old magazines in a place where we only say goodbye It stung like a violent wind that our memories depend on a faulty camera in our minds But I knew that you were a truth I would rather lose than to have never lain beside at all And I looked around at all the eyes on the ground as the TV entertained itself 'Cause there's no comfort in the waiting room Just nervous pacers bracing for bad news And then the nurse comes round and everyone will lift their heads But I'm thinking of what Sarah said that "Love is watching someone die" So who's going to watch you die?.."

I completely echo all that Joanna said in reference to Death Cab, although I would submit several of their other songs, as well, such as the lines "We left our love in our summer skin" and "But you don't know what now to do, because the chase is all you know -- and she stopped running months ago..." ("Summer Skin" and "Your Heart is An Empty Room", respectively). Not exactly happy lyrics, but profound references to a lot of romantic relationships. Death Cab is extremely insightful into the how and why of break-ups. Not just why "flings" dissipate, but why the reasons behind why 'steadier' relationships break apart. One of their more incredibly worded songs is "What Sarah Said". The song is so potently brilliant, and so sadly spectacular, that it deserves to have all its lyrics referenced:

I love the lyrics in the song "Mercy Came Running" by Phillips, Craig and Dean: "Looking down with longing eyes, Mercy must have realized, That once His blood was sacrificed, Freedom would prevail, And as the sky grew dark, And the earth began to shake, With justice no longer in the way...Mercy came running, Like a prisoner set free Past all my failures to the point of my need, When the sin that I carried, Was all I could see, And when I could not reach mercy, Mercy came running to me."

So...any particular fav lyrics guys? I am often attracted to songs that have not only appealing music, but well-crafted or interesting lyrics that really fit the music... Here's only a snippet of my favs (they sound a LOT better with music and in the original context of the song ;-)): "If heaven and hell decide that they both are satisfied--illuminate the 'NO's' on their vacancy signs--if there's no one to guide you when your soul embarks, I will follow you into the dark." ~ I Will Follow You Into The Dark (DCFC)...the theology sounds rather doubtful though lol ;P "Maybe, in five or ten, yours and mine will meet again...straighten this whole thing out. Maybe then honesty need not be feared as a friend or an enemy..." ~ Vienna (The Fray) "...with quiet words I'll lead you in and out of the dark." ~ Unwinding Cable Car (Anberlin) "...but do we know what life is, outside of our convenient Lexus cages?" ~ Gone (Switchfoot)
